  1. Hey! He went to Barrington High School! So he was a pampered rich kid? Har Har. Also, Barrington High School's district includes places like Carpentersville and Hoffman Estates so not everyone who attends that school is affluent. BeerHere attended Maine West Maine East
  2. I see our offense and defense are getting into mid-season form. Shhez!
  3. Pagan? maybe Hendry? Better? I don't know. I doubt Pagan's best will ever match Corey's best, which was in '03. He's likely to be more consistant though, and his average, IMO, will surely be better than Corey's worst. Off topic, I know. But I'm so disappointed in the whole Corey debacle. The entire organization had such high hopes for him. He was doing so well until the knee injury. It wasn't his knee that did him in, it was the space between his ears...
  4. We are scoring 2 runs this inning. I can just feel it!
  5. Novoa is also. at least I thought I read that. Anyone confirm?
  6. 5 hits in 2 innings. Does anyone have confidenece in Rusch or Williams?
  7. Nice to see Rusch ready to start the season. Shhez!
  8. When Blanco told Pagan that Grissom retired, Pagan cried. He was so happy and said that Grissom was such a great guy to do that, to give up a spot for a youngster, especially after trying to pass on all the knowledge he could to the kids in ST. I guess Grissom spent quite a bit of time hanging out with Pagan, Cedeno, Restovich, etc. Maddux was also giving him props also. Saying he would love to play for him or with him.
  9. Hey, you can never have too many closers in my book. You don't weaken what is strong for your team. Or you deal strength for strength and improve your team overall. That's what ST trades do for the most part. IMO, keeping Williamson is the best option, but I can see how he was on the block before our pen developed some holes. I pretty much had Dempster, Howry, Eyre, Ohman, Wuertz, and Novoa as locks before ST started. At least Hendry didn't pull the trigger too early. There really isn't much room to improve this team via trade right now. The spots we can improve drastically on (OF, 2B, SS) are spoken for barring a blockbuster move. The only move I can see you trade Williamson for is a Starter and no team is going to give up a starter of value for Willimason.

  11. thats what i thought too but his spring #'s are quite good. he must have regained some if not all of his lost velocity. williamson is a big risk imo and has pretty much said he wants to close again anyway so why not deal him? Why in the world do you want to trade an effective relief pitcher in Williamson? Why weaken your teams strength? Keep Williamson! You have Williamson, Howry, Eyre, and Dempster and it's a 5-6 inning game... because his health is a major issue. it's a gamble but at least he's worth something now. with ardsma & novoa & perhaps wuretz, it might be worth the risk to trade him and get something of value instead of waiting until he blows out his elbow. Okay so what happens if Dempster has trouble closing? Williamson is a closer and can step right in to that role. Keep him.

  13. He was there yesterday so I assume so... Would somebody please put that man out his misery ??? The guy lives through anything. He was hit by a car a few years ago and he's still going strong. Any idea's how old the dude is?
  14. Why? It's a spring training game. Texas was using a DH the other night when the Cubs let Zambrano hit. The result of this game is meaningless. All that matters is getting your work in. Cubs pitchers need to see some at bats, and the White Sox need to get their DH out there. I agree and I don't have a problem with it either. It's ST games. This is a non-story really..
  15. Bruce any word on Mark Prior? I know the doc was supposed to pay a visit sometime today...Just wondering when he can resume throwing the towel or ball.... According to Mark O'Neal (on the Score's 12:30 update), Prior through 30-40 long tosses this morning and Prior is reportedly pain-free. No timetable for a return would be given by O'Neal. Good news! Hopefully we can get Wood, Miller, and Prior back by early may...
