    I wouldnt be surprised to see this guy take over for Jock Strap by end of season if he keeps it up. That would mean he obviously played well enough to earn it based on Dusty's past use of young players so if Pagan does pass Jones by the end of the year I would be ecstatic. Dusty was quoted as saying he is really excited by the youth of his squad. However, I agree with you. Let's not get too high on Pagan here. It's only 1 game.

    I don't often defend the arms in the Cub pen, but it is a significant weather change for them to adapt to. However, there still is little defense for Williamson not throwing strikes while up by 7. Weather change? C'mon these guys are vets.

    I don't want to nitpick this early in the season. But you've got a 7 man bullpen, including a starter in Williams. The big concern with Eyre is he's coming off some serious overuse. Why not start this inning fresh with Williams, and keep from extending Eyre this early in the season? I have to agree with you there. No reason for Eyre to go two innings today.

    Walker started, Neifi pinch-hit for Ohman in the sixth, who was in the No. 6 spot due to Dusty double switching Ohman and Pagan. Neifi stayed in the game. When Williamson could throw strikes Dusty double-switched again, took Ronnie out, slid Neifi over to short and put Hairston in at second. I think Dusty has managed a good game today.

    I really like the way Dusty has managed today. The double switch of Pagan and jones I loved. And I really like this teams speed also.

    Does this really need to start 5 innings into the season? Well do you really sense a change? Um the fact we scored 5 in the first and didn't squander that opportunity was a change. No team is gonna score EVERY time they have runners in scoring position. None. Not even the WS champs. And most teams if you give your ace a 5 run lead that a gimme win for him. I'm not only talking about the offense but our starters habit of getting and then giving away big leads. As for the offense I'm talking about scoring early and not putting teams away.

    Same thing year after year. Our starters can't hold leads and we waste opportunities with our offense.
