  1. I just read that and it looks like something "The Onion" would write. funny stuff!
  2. I'm hoping they use him as a swing\long man. Like how the Sox used McCarthy.
  3. Really? I'm firmly in Hills corner. Guzman still hasn't proven anything in the bigs, and Gallagher is unproven.
  4. Good Lord, that sounds like no limit poker to me. This is reaching epic insanity proportions. I've got to think most other teams are pretty shocked at the Cubs' suddenly changed behavior this offseason. I know it's shocking the heck out of me. KEEP SHOCKING US, PLEASE!!!!!!
  5. LETS GET IT ON! This could be a fun week...
  6. The other owners would never allow Cuban to buy any team. Baseball is far to conservative for a person like him...
  7. Shheez! The Soriano signing is getting better and better.
  8. It's not like he's ever complained about arm trouble besides cramps. I'd be more worried about his back then his arm.
  9. 2007 might not be nearly as expensive as we've been hearing, or maybe Hendry is going to get more players than we every thought about. Budgeting Aramis at $8m this year is low. I'm guessing Soriano's will be back loaded as well. The downside is that in 4 years, we might be making salary dumps. But he got a signing bonus of 5 million. Which is esentionally 13 million for this year, no?
  10. I like the Randy Wolf part, but hate the counsell part.
  11. I honestly don't think anyone knows. It's all speculation right now.
  12. Look at that lazy bum on the phone. Why did we give him so much money? I hate lazy bums. Why the hell is he on the phone! He should be in uniform taking ground balls!
  13. I didn't think so. He was standing behind a podium the whole time. Was Boers literally there? Aramis has chubby cheeks. Always has, always will. Maybe Boers was ripping on that. Any noteworthy comments made after the radio coverage cut away? Interesting questions? Hustle references? Clutch concerns? No.
  14. I didn't think so. He was standing behind a podium the whole time. Was Boers literally there? Aramis has chubby cheeks. Always has, always will. Maybe Boers was ripping on that. Has Boers ever looked in a mirror?
  15. As soon as they started on the Ramierez and Hendry rants, I closed out the browser. I can't stand those two.
  16. - Jumped up and down when he heard about Soriano coming here. - He wanted to sign here and win here. Knows he left a lot of money on the table and doesn't care.
  17. I haven't seen anything on a press conference on the cubs.com page.
  18. I'll tell you what, I'll take my chances once we get to the playoffs..
  19. It's a stupid quote. How many players hit good pitching?
  20. It wouldn't shock me! Nothing shocks me in this market.
  21. Seattle is great city. I can easily see why someone from that area would want to go back. Agreed. I'm sure, but if another team overwhelms him he's not going to say no. And Chicago isn't chopped liver either...
  22. Hey man, I love DC and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. But if the choice between two jobs, one in my preferred location and another in Chicago, for a 3 year gig...I think I can delay my preferred city for 3 years if it meant an extra 6 million dollars in my account. West coast gets played up too much. Schmidt isn't Clemens, he's ten years younger, and he's not on the cusp of retirement. For a 3 year gig, location probably doesn't mean that much to a guy not yet in his twilight years. Above all players love money.
  23. She's the worst. I think her and Muskat are the same person.
