  1. Rogers was pretty consistently on the Theo angle in the weeks prior, but that's about it. Speaks to how well Ricketts keeps stuff quiet, that all the information has to get out from the Boston side. That's probably been the most impressive thing. Either Ricketts is great at keeping [expletive] quiet or chicago reports really do suck at getting information.
  2. Wait! Is that news? Has it been reported or are you just being silly in the silly thread?
  3. Yeah, if Ramirez was a middling earner (or a always go for the biggest offer guy) throughout his career I would assume he would do what he could to cash out. He was making $6m at at 26 and has made at least $100m so far in his career. He's going to make a lot next year regardless of what kind of deal he signs, and he's given every indication that he's the type of guy that would like to a) play for the Cubs, b) play for a winning Cubs team, c) walk away when he's washed up, and d) accept a shorter term deal than the biggest one he could get. Sure, the strictly financial decision is going to mean he's gone, but assuming Theo wants him around, I'm guessing he can sell Ramirez on trying to win big sometime in the next 2 years with the Cubs. Well said.
  4. That was reported a few pages down. That's a no-brainer.
  5. I'd give him up in a heartbeat. He's a long shot in the best of terms to become very good.
  6. I think about two people including you have actually seen Hackers.
  7. Hell, for me the entire 1984 team is my crush.
  8. Now I see why you were against the actual silly thread, it was too much to keep track of. EXACTLY! Now you see my point?
  9. I'm sure he can be fixed by whoever that guy who's our pitching coach is I hope Rick Sutcliffe gets that job. *fingers crossed* Be more obvious. *toes crossed?*
  10. Of course not. It's a done deal. http://images.wikia.com/en.futurama/images/d/da/Fry_Looking_Squint.jpg C'mon. It's the silly thread. Have some fun.
  11. I didn't feel I had to spell it out for you, and I was too lazy.
  12. Of course not. It's a done deal.
  13. They are more than welcome to take Jon Jackson off our hands Take any of them but Jackson. Whoosh Whoosh? I get the stupid Jon Jackson joke. That's not what I was commented about. Read the first post.
  14. Right on my ass, after you KISS IT Dexter's getting jealous.
  15. I'm sure he can be fixed by whoever that guy who's our pitching coach is I hope Rick Sutcliffe gets that job. *fingers crossed*
  16. Yeah, no need to add more useless expensive contracts.
  17. Where it says NO [expletive] WAY!
  18. I just don't see the need on three theo threads when they are all basically the same thing. I thought NSBB was all about less threads. Just an observation that's all. This thread is not like the other threads. This is a silly thread. We aren't posting articles or having serious discussion here. Than I see you in a lot of silly threads. *Then Then what?
  19. I'm thinking Brad Pitt.
  20. They are more than welcome to take Jon Jackson off our hands Take any of them but Jackson.
  21. Which would make sense then, but I highly doubt Red Sox want money. They have no shortage of that. I'd think they'd want talent. And the Cubs could be saying "tough [expletive]; either take the money or get middling talent." This isn't a done deal, but it's pretty obviously beyond the point where the Red Sox scrap everything if the Cubs are insisting they get max compensation value via money as opposed to a player or players. Then the Red Sox say "[expletive] you! He's under contact and he needs to drag his ass back here!" And completely torch their reputation among potential future young, talented executives who might want to join them. I don't think Boston will ever have a problem getting a talented young exec no matter how bad they touched him.

  24. Not interesting at all. Ricketts is the owner and I'm sure he has to convince Theo on his plans and direction of the team. He's talking about the compensation. I see. Well that's down right scary. What the hell does Ricketts know about players values? I hope he's not stupid enough to give'em anything they want.
