  1. I agree. It's really well done site. Very simple and clean. Never heard of hybrid blog software before, but I really like the look of it. When did you start the site? I see you're ranking 156,000.. Do you tweet all your blogs? If not you should that number would decrease greatly in no at time at all. Thanks - BN started in December 2008, and I started working on it full-time in May of this year. I do indeed tweet all my posts ( ), and I put them up on Facebook as well (http://www.facebook.com/bleachernation). I do other stuff on Facebook and Twitter, also - just to keep them a little different/interesting. Not that I'm shamelessly self-promoting BN's Twitter and Facebook page, but since you asked... I just sent you a PM. No need to derail the thread.

  4. He's resigning with them. Our only hope is that once they win this world series they do what they do and we get to add to that cardinals in hell photo. Yep. I have no doubts he's Cardinal next year.
  5. Exactly. What the hell!
  6. Didn't the White Sox announce the Robin Ventura hiring during the playoffs? I honestly don't think MLB cares when it's announced. Nothing can be announced during the World Series. The rest of the playoffs it doesn't matter. The MLB was livid when ARod's extension was announced during the WS and since then I believe its a rule that nothing can get announced. That's different because it's a player. I don't really think MLB would care if Theo is announced during the WS. It's GM hire that nobody outside of Boston and Chicago really care about.
  7. How did Theo become the GM or the Sox? Did he work his way up the Sox org chart or something?
  8. All good points. Gotta go guys. Going out for the day and finally going to see Moneyball. I love you all and I hope everyone enjoys this beautiful fall day. GOD BLESS!!!! CC
  9. Pujols is going to stay. I'd to get Fielder. If he gets too fat to play 1st base (which would be several years into his contract) I'm sure a lot of AL teams would take him in a trade and DH him. Man, I'm worried about the Yanks snatching him up tho. Everything I've read ever has pointed to the Yankees not going after Pujols or Fielder. Do you have any actual reason for said worrying? No. Just that they are the Yankees and you never know what they will do or buy. You actually kinda do when they have Tex at 1B and no need for DH. You don't think that Fielder is an upgrade from Posada?
  10. A medical staffer? C'mon Theo! WTH?!?!

  12. That's actually a good point. Quit and if they make a stink about the contract money the Cubs will just pay it and he's home free. Call me crazy but that makes a lot of sense. Per his contract, unless both parties agree to break the contract, if he is going to work in baseball in 2012, it will be for the Boston Red Sox. He is well within his rights to retire and not work in baseball at all this year, but he would forfeit his pay. True. He couldn't quit just to join another team. It can't be that easy.

  15. Or trying to get the thread back on track. I guess I can't win with you. How can I make you like me? It really bothers me to the point I can't sleep at night.
  16. Not sure what you mean, but okay.
  17. http://www.csnchicago.com/baseball-chicago-cubs/news/Red-Sox-playing-hardball-with-Cubs?blockID=577760&feedID=661 I don't see this ending well for the Red Sox. They are coming off as complete asshats and I imagine other front offices are going to take a dim view of dealing with them. They are making enemies right now. I guess the Yankees weren't enough. But clearly the owner can care less about making enemies. Hell, it never hurt the Yankees right? It's different with the Yankees they have resources that no other team can come close to matching. Other teams are envious of that position. The Red Sox are making this beef personal. It's not like Boston is poor? They don't have the same resources, but it's pretty damn close, no?
  18. Would Jackson start next year playing CF. Or would they wait on him longer. I guess it all depends on his ST. Nevermind just answered my own question.
  19. This is not going to end well. I can't believe with all the candidates out there they hire Ventura?
  20. Yup. It's basically a " Well you wanna leave us? Were gonna make it as hard as it can be and a living hell for you if your gonna do this to us" type thing. They're basically holding him ransom. Damn, you guys just explained my life. It happened exactly like that, but eventually cooler heads prevails and things get done fairly.

  22. Well [expletive] pay up already! The owner is such a prick I can see him just keeping Theo on the sidelines for a year. That would be a PR disaster for the next year for Boston. He can't be that stupid, but if he just wants money just pay the dick and get it done.
  23. World Series starts Wednesday. They won't announce it then. John Henry talked to reporters... Wait, what? They never given permission to hire him? That explains the tampering comment yesterday. Is the owner on crack or something?
  24. I don't think Ricketts would do that just for a PR move. In fact, I'm pretty positive he wouldn't. He'd hire him if he felt he would be a good manager. I do agree they wouldn't hire a interim GM and wait until next year, wasting a year. He'd just try to hire his second choice of a GM.
