If you go out and get 2 current GMs to run your office, it is doubtful that one of those guys is going to be a de facto asst GM. If Epstein is going to be the president of baseball ops, then he's going to be the president of baseball ops and the GM is going to be the GM. And that GM is going to have asst GMs. If Theo is president, he will be involved in the biggest moves, like signing Pujols or trading for an ace, but the GM will have final say on virtually all other transactions.
