  1. For me the closest thing is the Bears getting Cutler. Mark Prior
  2. Can it be just you?
  3. I think he hacked C.C.'s account and has been posting here the last couple of days in an effort to lessen the enthusiasm so that when he starts actually working for the Cubs, his awesomeness will be fully revealed and appreciated by all. No, I'm just being realistic. The man isn't a Cub yet. Settle down until it's official.
  4. I just don't see the need on three theo threads when they are all basically the same thing. I thought NSBB was all about less threads. Just an observation that's all.
  5. Don't we have enough Theo threads. What's the point?
  6. Because we're going to be winning 95 games every year. ??? Boston didn't win 95 every year. They didn't get to face the NL Central (minus Pujols and/or Fielder) Okay he's got 5 years let's see if he wins 95 every year. That's a bold statement and im pretty sure you'll be wrong.

  8. :good: Skyrocket? Because we hired a GM? Not likely.
  9. clearly the "safari" was a trip spent with Bill James and Mr Beane to discuss how Mr Ricketts could change the world. It worked. Don't get too giddy guys. The guy hasn't done jack [expletive] yet. Let's not grab our collective [expletive] just yet. He hired a highly qualified person with a track record of success that prescribes to advanced statistics to run the baseball opps department. That's all he needed to really do on the baseball side, other then opening up the purse strings. Now its said he is going to be hands off. So yeah, he did a ton. I realize you also might be sarcastic. Again, what has he done so far? Nothing. Until he does There's reason to give the guy kudos. Let's just see what happens.

  11. The bold cracks me up.
  12. We had Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, Carlos Zambrano, and Juan Cruz (I don't care that Dusty was stupid enough to trot out Estes... we still had Cruz, damnit) But Estes did have that one gem in September. Who was that against again?
  13. No it isn't. It sorta is. It's just not as bad as people think. We have been under awful ass-backwards ownership after all and professed an ass-backward philosophy of swing as our minor league instruction over the past few years. We have a couple of awful contracts and are dead set on trading a decent starter and paying him to play for another team. We paid a closer decent money and now he might not be all that great anymore. There are a lot of problems but that doesn't mean this can't be made a competitive team next year. I feel like the organizational problems will take more/longer to fix than the major league product itself. Sure but with (hopefully) Pujols and Fielder gone next year our chances go up quite a bit.
  14. No it isn't. Yeah, it's not that bad. It's not like we are a small market team that can't get better in a hurry,
  15. My Penis is now named Big Theo.
  16. Players don't give a [expletive] about anything but the money.
  17. Yeah, this was said last page. Check before you post.
  18. Is that a lot? Don't most top tier GM make that?
  19. No, that would be a news conference.
  20. Well, when Francona was let go, ALL of them (Lucciano, Henry and Epstein) were present. I think it's signifigant. When it's Red Sox related, they are all usually joined at the hip. It's a radio interview. If any of you are expecting any valuable information in regards to Theo out of a radio interview with an owner, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Then why are the two top guys in the organization doing the radio interview if it's nothing signifigant? Look, you could be right but they need to address this as Boston and Chicago are basically hanging upside down here. They aren't going to address it on a radio show at 7AM. They are just going to beat around the bush with non-answers.
  21. What's to get excited about? You think they are going to announce anything on a sports radio show at 7AM? It's just a interview. Big whoop!
  22. Get off of youporn at work.
  23. It's not being televised?
  24. Interesting.....
