    FTH does that mean? Means he's not mentally tough. Can't handle the pressure Lou puts on players to perform. I've heard this before from Levine. In other words, let's make up an excuse for not playing the guy. A really, really bad excuse as well. I dislike Lou very much. Yeah, he's terrible. The team has quit on him a long time ago....

    If you're the Cubs you would. the sox have soured on anderson, who could benefit from a change, iand dye is gone after the season, why not improve their bullpen with a reliever who can actually get people out on occassion? I would think it would take more to get Dye then Wuertz.

    A 5-2 home stand would be very respectable, especially considering it's the Mets and the Phillies coming in. Respectable? A 5-2 homestand is awesome if it's against the Nationals and Pirates. If it's against the Mets and Phillies, it's nothing short of fantastic. You are 100% correct. I'm hoping for a 4-3 homestand. Sounds good to me. Anything else would be gravy.

    I don't see why not. I wouldn't even say it's an outside chance. It's a pretty decent chance. If he's called up Thurs, there's no reason he couldn't be called in to a game on Friday. Especially since he wouldnt have thrown since Tues, Id say there is a real good chance. Imagine that, Wood relieving Zambrano wow I just might tear up. I seriously get chills just thinking about it. C'mon baseball gods just give him one last go at it. He deserves it!

    This still bothers me a little. Miracles like this just don't happen to Kid K. It just might be our year...Imagine that?

    I can't believe it either...And how they are doing it? No homeruns? Getting on base? Solid starting pitching? It's an amazing transformation from that worthless team two months ago.

    And a package from the Cubs could actually help speed that up. I think they have to make the deal if the Cubs can take on the salary. If the Cubs offered Pie and Murton they'd be stupid not to take that deal.

    I dunno...the Cubs are in contention this year. If they make the playoffs, I don't see a new owner ditching Hendry. I agree. They would ride him out for another year. I imagine it would take a while to evaluate everything.

    It's 20 million (of which the Trib would be paying $4 mil.) if they don't exercise the '09 option: ~$4 mil. this year, $12 mil. next year, and a $4mil. buyout. $32 mil. if they picked up the option. I'd hope that the Reds would be picking up some part as well (or taking on Jones or Eyre in the deal). While it's no slam-dunk, that's a much less significant commitment than signing Z to a mult-year contract. Ah...That's a bit better. Thanks for the clarification.

    Agreed. It's been said already, but try and find a team with a better number 3-5 than we have (Marquis, Hill, Marshall). Even with their shortcomings, we're (at bare minimum) average among contending teams. I'm just worried about Hill and Marquis pitching past 4-5 innings...
