  1. Neither starter will last more then a couple of innings.
  2. I see the rotation being the one area we need to strengthen by the deadline. If our focus is on how to beat the Diamondbacks, we can't afford to have any holes in our starting pitching. Ideally, we need a #2 starter, but I don't think any will be available. Who will the best options be? AJ Burnett Greg Maddux (he could fill the 5th starter's role and provide long relief in the playoffs Others? How about Rich Hill
  3. I made the mistake of reading readers comments. Idiots.
  4. He'll be playing tonight.
  5. Big test for the kid tonight. Let's see if he can get us a series win.

  7. Sweet! For some reason I thought St. Louis won last night.
  8. I'd be shocked if he makes it 4 innings...
  9. I thought they were giving him the day off tomorrow... That's what I read.
  10. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Marquis. Unless Gallagher sucks up the joint.
  11. I'll buy that theory if he took off the suit when he came to bat.
  12. Geo doing the splits would be the sexiest.
  13. So LLF got the single thing wrong, but puppy dogs right...hes batting .500! He's a ballplayer though, so being married can be very similar to being single. Zing! So true...
  14. Apparently misplaced his power. Yeah. Good thing we finally got ourselves that power hitting RF we've been missing the last few years. Some people are never happy... I'm perfectly happy with our RF. I just like that we're winning and everyone loves Fukudome and he's hit for less power than Murton, who apparently didn't have enough power when he was in the majors. Right now, whho would you rather have in RF Fukudome or Murton? Offensively, they're closer than you might think. Closer than the salary difference warrants. But Fuku. Offensively (for now) perhaps, but as an all-around baseball player Fuku over Murton.
  15. It don't matter, CT, 'cause we can win more. Still, it's more comfortable if the other teams lose. I like it when the division is good. It erases that stigma of, "yeah the Cubs are in first, but its in the lowly NL Central". Shows that the Cubs are the class act in a classy division. I would prefer the Cubs beat up on a crappy divison and win it easily. I would prefer the Cubs beat up on a good division and win it easily. I don't care either way. Just win!

  18. Didn't realize hart has pitched that well. It's only been 10 innings but the 14/2 k/bb is impressive.
  19. FINALLY A WGN GAME! Going to the local watering hole in Fort Meyers to watch this game. I'm sick of checking my cell phone every 5 minutes for a cubs score, which is kinda sick being on Vacation.
  20. It's been a while since we had homegrown guys like Soto, Cedeno, Theriot and whomever else doing well. It's a good problem to have a bench as strong as ours, and players giving 100% to get playing time. It's a long season and a lot can happen, just be happy with the depth we have. The only gripe I have is how Marmol is used in useless situations. All in all he's handled the starting pitching ( except for Hill ) well. I can't remember the last time one of our starters was abused. Lou and his coaching staff have otherwise been a godsend in changing our approach, purifying us for Dusty's flith.
  21. Don't feel bad, C24Y, you're team is still plenty talented, and we were fortunately not to face Webb. You guys sound rebound nicely with your next series. To be fair the Dbacks didn't face Z.
  22. It's beautiful here in Florida. I knew they would get hot again as soon as I leave town!
