  1. Lou thinking about skipping Gallagher next start. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/995375,CST-SPT-cubnt09.article
  2. As Boston sweeps the series.
  3. I still can't believe interested parties haven't rec'd the financial books yet? Talk about dragging this thing on and on...
  4. I hate 9:40 start times except on the weekends.
  5. And if he gets hurt? I'd rather see Kerry healthy for a full year in the pen and then perhaps next year make him a starter again.
  6. We are due for a big blowout win tonight. DLEE's going yard tonight!
  7. Seriously? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
  8. I'm just amazed and a little pissed off by this Cards team.
  9. 3-0. Sheez! Just got to keep on winning...
  10. Cards still up 2-0 through 6.
  11. And Wellemeyer's era dips below 3.00. What the hell?
  12. Hard to believe the Cards are only 3 games in back of us.
  13. You're depressing me man!
  14. Best of luck Rich. Dominate AAA like you normally do and get back up here!
  15. The stinkage continues. Cubs lose this one 12-1.
  16. My math is terrible but I think it's 90 games. We are 38-21 with 103 games left. If we go 52-51 that equates to 90-72.
  17. The central is really, really tough in the early going.
  18. The only way that will happen is if a highly uncharacteristic storm hits SD and washes the game out after 6 innings. Whatever it takes
  19. How about a complete game from Lilly tonight.
  20. It would be 2003 but with a better offense.
  21. When you say the bullpen you mean Marmol and Wood. Everyone else should be rested.
  22. That'll work. Although the Jays are only 5 games out and Boston just lost Ortiz for a month.
  23. If there were any semblance of logic in the O's front office, we would have Roberts. Can't really blame Stone for not foreseeing that kind of stupidity. Big mistake by them. Anyway, Hendry has a history of getting major deals done when the Cubs are legit contenders at the deadline (last year notwithstanding). With the Cubs on the cusp of a possible championship season, I could see him giving up whatever it takes (if he has enough, that is) to attempt to secure that championship. We'll see. Possibly. Hendry has never been in a position where he was overwhelmingly ahead of a playoff spot, which is where he would be if the Cubs kept winning at a decent clip. I could easily see Hendry being content with a team that is playing at a 103 win pace and assume that if its good enough to win in the regular season, its good enough to win in October, which we all know its not. I don't. Lou's going to push hard for another starter. And Hendry is all about continually improving the team. Hell, this could be his last year - he has something to prove.
