  1. I totally agree with you. All you have to do is listen to the talk shows and read Cubs.com.
  2. I am embarrassed to be a Cubs fan after last night. Link
  3. Both Hairston and Aram have sore legs.
  4. D Lee says that it was totally classless also. Bad for the home team to admit that many of the fans are jerks. Only people like the tasteless Mike Murphy on the score think it was good. It's embarrassing for all true Cubs fans. Even Dempster thinks the booing is out of hand. ESPN 1000 with Bruce Levine just played the interview clips. I'm sure it will be in the papers tomorrow. It's now on the Cubs.com site.
  5. At least he's not as dumb and lazy as Hairston.
  6. Good effort into 2nd Jer. Geez, don't want to play, tell them.
  7. Nice job Hairston try running next time.
  8. If we are lucky, someone will relieve themselves on her lawn!!!
  9. Ronny Cedeno. And people aren't angry with Neifi Perez. They're angry with Dusty for playing him over a kid who was hitting .370 in AAA and sticking him in the 2 hole. Exactly. Neifi saved our butts in April and May, but it has been clear for quite a while that Neifi isn't cutting it offensively, and that's an understatement. Now some people may have the warm fuzzies over his two big hits recently, but the reality is that Dusty's insitence on playing him over Cedeno has been really hurting the club. Neifi may be a better defender, but only maginally so. Certainly not enough to make up for how much better a hitter Cedeno is. I am not mad at Neifi, he is what he is. But he along with Hollandsworth need to be on the bench, and that is Dusty's fault. So you think AAA pitching is the same as ML pitching?
  10. We under appreciate Neifi. He's a career sub who has filled in admirably. Let's not have short memories, Neifi and DLee were carrying the offense when Aramis and Corey were automatic outs early in the season. Without going into the same debate again, I'll have to strongly disagree. Neifi did well in April, but he's regressed to his career numbers, which I don't want on the roster at all. Nonsense. Since May 1: .241/.261/.337/.598 Who's been worse? Cory Patterson for one. Nope, actually 50 points better in OPS, but he's been deemed not good enough to be on a major league roster at that level of production. Yet Neifi has praise heaped upon him for being worse since his hot start. I should have clarified though, I was referring to infielders when I asked who was worse, since you claimed he was the best reserve. This is a prime example of why I'm glad the Cubs look at more than just selective stats. I guess you just ignore defense, but hey that's ok. Your're entitled to your opinion, I just disagree. CPat is where he belongs BTW. Interesting that you would use the "defense" argument for Neifi while you trash talk Patterson, easily our best defensive outfielder and one of the better fielders in the league. Not this year.

  14. Geez, you Neifi haters never give up. Best backup infielder in baseball this year, without him, Oh heck what's the use-you guys all know better and hate him.
  15. I'll admit that i've never seen that night games ruling in print, but I've heard it around the neighborhood from several people. there's some crackpots that live here, though, so maybe it's not true. here's to hoping. And how is the city going to make money off of Buffett? From the city taxes on the concert tickets? We will agree then to end this. Yes the city gets 10% of tickets just like baseball tickets sold. the taxes are nice for them. As far as the law goes, I too am unsure, but with everything dumping down on the chief thief Daley, he wouldn't make anything of this. He has far more problems and is going down. Can't wait for the "perp walk" for this little scum.
  16. Huh? If it was rescheduled as the "night" part of a day night doubleheader, the Cubs would be replacing a night game (tonight) with a night game (the make-up). How would that affect the number of night games? Show me where the Cubs have another night game against the Giants. I don't think you're following what I'm saying. Hypothetically, let's say the Cubs have a limit of 24 night games. (I say "hypothetically" only because I don't know the precise limit) Further, let's assume that the Cubs have exactly 24 night games on their schedule. If tonight's game was rained out, it would be removed from the schedule. So, there would be 23 night games on the schedule. Accordingly, the Cubs could make the game up tomorrow night (as past of a day-night doubleheader) without exceeding the limit on night games. If a DAY game is rained out, the Cubs are unable to make it up at night. I do get what you're saying. What I'm saying is that i know the city of Chicago approves the night game list months before the season starts, and I don't think they allow making up of night games on nights where there's no scheduled night game. The limit, by the way, is 30. The Cubs also scheduled a pair of Jimmy Buffett concerts, one of which is at night, which the city is tremendously unhappy about. The city of Chicago has already punished the Cubs for scheduling Buffett by taking away one of their night games for next year, so they will only be able to have 29. Also the Cubs have already agreed that they will not have any more concerts next year. As I am sure that the Cubs would have to go through the city in order to reschedule this game at night, I think making a night game, especially tomorrow night, is out of the question. I may be wrong, but I doubt it. Where do you get your info? It probably will be a straight DH tomorrow, but the info you are saying is just plain wrong. The city is happy to have Buffet, they need the money. You must be hearing this stuff from Charlotte Newfeld, not your alderman. The city agreed to night games and they agreement of when they are scheduled or re-scheduled have to fall under the master agreement, not day to day.

  18. Thanks, I missed that. I know that Cincy feels Willy Mo has potential but is "lazy". Just like the Pirates felt about Aram. I know the majority on this board hate Dusty, but he does do a good job with that type of player.
  19. But tonight is a night game that wouldn't be played. it doesn't matter. the Cubs have to clear the night game schedule with the city months before the season starts. That is just plain wrong.
  20. So it's more likely to be scheduled for a mutal off day later in the year? I think it's more likely they schedule a regular doubleheader. But then again, if this storm continues to pass and the outfield holds up ok, this game may start at 9 or so. Which would be great, because I live next to the park. And I could pick up a ticket from a scalper for a buck after a two hour rain delay. And sit wherever I want. not that I'm bragging. If it starts at 9 you're golden, they might pay you to take the ticket.
  21. But tonight is a night game that wouldn't be played. The Giants would need to agree, not the neighborhood.
  22. 1. Hairston, CF 2. Walker, 2B 3. Lee, 1B 4. Ramirez, 3B 5. Barrett, C 6. Burnitz, RF 7. Perez, SS 8. Murton, LF 9. Maddux, P Right now it's raining hard. Just heard on the Score, the game may be delayed until 8- 8:30 pm or they may scrap it all together and have a Double Header tomorrow. Gee, the score has a real grasp of the obvious. Wow, I love the sarcasm. The Score didn't report the rain just the delay. They were reporting it almost 3 hours ago. In other words, the team is willing to wait versus postponing the game. Unless they make it a day-night doubleheader, they would lose the 39,000 gate. Sorry, wasn't critcizing you, I just think the score is useless.
