  1. You just don't get it...this is not a very good analogy as it relates to the current scenario. Yeah, I don't get it. Bitter distaste for a guy that had the nerve to play on another team and beat the Cubs. And stopped to watch a homerun. OMG! No Cubs have ever done that (or, for example, shown up opponents by doing a "hop" after every homerun)! I hate him for life and want to boo him and (insert gay joke here)! All this vitriole has very little to do with him possibly no longer being an effective player. i think you'd be surprised. most people on this board don't want him on the cubs because he sucks at baseball. Yeah, but they're not the ones pissing and moaning. oh i've pissed and moaned plenty, and not because edmonds used to play for the cardinals or is happy. Edmonds is happy? Not that there's anything wrong with it.
  2. 5 over. feeling optimistic over there jake? the pirates aren't ready to contend this year IMO, but there have been some promising signs, and i think that neal huntington has the organization headed in a much better direction (granted, it'd be hard to be worse than littlefield) From Today's PG: On deck: trouble If the Pirates never had to face Chicago, as they do for three games at Wrigley Field beginning today, they would have a contender's record and statistics. Consider that they are 0-6 against the Cubs, 20-15 against everyone else. Or that they bat .222 against the Cubs' pitchers, .301 against everyone else. Or that their pitchers have a 7.20 ERA against the Cubs, 4.45 against everyone else. And here is one individually: Freddy Sanchez is 3 for 27 vs. Chicago. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08137/882386-63.stm So, yes, I am feeling optimistic. I think this Pirates team is a lot better than anyone expected them to be. Including themselves. Now, if they only can just figure out how to beat those pesky Cubs.....
  3. Arbitration eligible next season. He's hit in every game this year.
  4. I think he's ready to get promoted to the Angels. They can't just take the Cubs AAAA players without compensation. Dave Littlefield doesn't work for us anymore. Did he ever really work for you guys before? He did some good things for us. More awful than good to be sure. But, some things were good.

  6. Or Sunday I'm sure. Good news is Wood gets the bottom of the order in the 9th. We have McAlphabet * Doumit on the bench. WOn't bee that easy.
  7. The April swoon comes through again! At least Marmol won't be available tomorrow.
  8. google 'April Swoon' Look at the first listing.
  9. Nate has his hitting streak on the line here...
  10. Say, anyone know how the Pens are doing ? (I'll take anything I can get!)
  11. I am just messing with him, I would say most on this board are pretty good about seeing the huge flaws on our own team. It ain't about seeing the flaws. It's about temping the fates!!! Those terrible little harpies lurking around in the shadows that come to life at the first sound of Cubs fans taunting any other team. LOL!
  12. Ward is the only player to hit one into the river on a fly at PNC Park. he was w/ Houston at the time.
  13. We've scored a lot of runs late in games this year.
  14. Please hit Bautista so Snell gets up this inning and we start the next inning w/ Nate!
