Solomon Torres closing games isn't going to get you in the playoffs. Why? He's having a great season and the closer role is such a joke. How can you say it's a joke? Most teams in the postseason have brilliant closers. For instance, the playoffs last year. Yankees have Rivera. Red Sox have Papelbon. Rockies had Corpas. Arizona had Valverde. Angels had K-Rod. You could always say the Indians had Borowski, and the Cubs had Dempster, but go ahead and tell me how the closer position is a joke.
