  1. Bobby Abreu was in that club before this year. .299/.405/.498 entering play today.
  2. I'm doubting we get anything done with Wilson.
  3. How in the hell did you notice that? Do you just randomly add up numbers you see? With slash stats, yeah. Every once in a while, you get people around here who go OBP/SLUG/OPS... to spot check that they haven't done that, I've gotten in the habit of adding the first two numbers and seeing if they match the third...
  4. Groovy. Bruce, any idea if the Cubs are looking at bringing Edmonds back next season? Everyone always give them crap for holding on to a one year guy to long, see Gary Gaetti. Now we are suggesting to this very thing. I wasn't suggesting it. I am beginning to wonder where the front office is leaning, though.

  6. That's kinda weird... Hoffpauir's AVG+OBP=SLUG OPS of 1.181 is always nice.
  7. Huseby has been pitching better. Not great still, but he's actually been making it out of the first inning.
  8. The board crashes every night at 2 am and stays down for about 10 or 15 minutes.
  9. My thoughts exactly.
  10. Colvin's average is .251 now.
  11. Who cares? It's just the batting order... I'm more concerned with who plays in his absence.
  12. That ball was absolutely crushed.
  13. That was a terrible call.
  14. Looks like I made a mistake before... That Johnson - Edmonds platoon has been pretty productive. Aramis Ramirez - 2.41 Carlos Marmol - 2.25 Ryan Dempster - 2.01 (2.76 Pitching, -0.75 Batting) Carlos Zambrano - 1.93 (1.41 Pitching, 0.52 Batting) Jim Edmonds - 1.47 Alfonso Soriano - 1.45 Derrek Lee - 1.34 Kosuke Fukudome - 1.08 Mark DeRosa - 0.93 Ted Lilly - 0.74 Mike Fontenot - 0.68 Rich Harden - 0.67 Reed Johnson - 0.66
  15. Rob (Bloomington, IL): Ryan Flaherty already has 14 errors at SS. Is he a 2B or a 3B down the line? Kevin Goldstein: I like Ryan Flaherty quite a bit, but if he had two errors I'd still tell you he's a second baseman in the end. (Isn't that our Rob?) You don't own me! Nobody owns me!
  16. WPA: 1. Ramirez 2. Dempster 3. Zambrano 4. Edmonds 5. Soriano
  17. My favorite is still Nolan Ryan going 8-16 in 1987 despite his league-leading 2.76 ERA.
  18. I don't believe the 40-man is full at present. It will be once Guzman completes his rehab.
  19. 1. Zambrano 2. Dempster 3. Ramirez 4. Soto 5. Soriano
  20. All that's happened is that he's been placed on waivers... almost every player from every team will have been put on waivers at some point by the end of this month... including guys like DLee, Aramis, and Z. This means nothing.
  21. Vance needs his Brenly updates. Vitters extends the hit streak to 18 games.
  22. My dad bought six front row tickets to today's game... My whole family and I will be watching the game from behind the netting just to the 3rd base side of home plate. Gotta love it.
  23. He was listed in the lineup on milb.com until the middle of the 1st inning.
  24. Power arm with delivery and/or consistency issues who may figure it out...that's a Hendry-era pitching prospect for you. Meh... sometimes those guys turn into Jose Ceda. I'm not too bummed with the return.
