  1. Was anybody else concerned that the shockwave from that lady's arm fat was going to kill people?
  2. Theriot isn't really a basestealer...
  3. Samardzija is talking a mile a minute on the leadoff man... He's obviously excited as hell.
  4. I imagine some roster shuffling will be occurring once the league office gets ahold of all the videotape from yesterday.
  5. Not any chance that he would pitch better than Marquis this year. I should take you to Vegas.
  6. Looks like Pie's day is probably over (unless Tuscon scores 8 in the bottom of the 9th)... which is a shame. Two singles, a double, a triple, and a walk in six plate appearances. Oh, and a stolen base. He's now batting .367 in July with a 1.019 OPS
  7. Even if he were, there's no reason he shouldn't be kicked off the team for that. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Who in their right mind would throw a baseball at someone from 5 feet away? I'm actually glad it hit a fan because that means more will be done to him. Just completely insane. Assult with a deadly weapon might be an option. He better hope the fan is ok. The fan is expected to be ok. I still think he's got a whopper of a lawsuit against Castillo (and perhaps the Chiefs) if he chooses to pursue it. There are signs up warning fans to beware of balls leaving the field of play... I wonder how much that'll help their defense?
  8. Court appearance on Friday... that's all they had.
  9. By the way... I can't get the image of Castillo sitting around in county lockup still in full uniform and being asked "what are you in for?"
  10. Coming up on Baseball Tonight, apparently. Wonder if they'll have any more news on the charges.
  11. Felix Pie is 3-3 with a triple and a walk so far tonight, and Micah Hoffpauir has hit a grand slam for Iowa. They're up 10 - 5 in the 6th.
  12. Hopefully Samardzija pitches well enough to take Marquis' rotation spot.
  13. I'm still not quite sure how Aramis stole 2nd successfully... on a pitchout, no less.
  14. Cody Ross (career) vs. RHP - .246/.308/.439 vs. LHP - .291/.353/.618 I support the move to bring in Howry.
  15. Vitters sitting out tonight too. :banghead:
  16. The cute girl in the middle there was my best friends' sister.
  17. Dan Haren cost 6 players...
  18. Under contract through 2010... 08:$10M, 09:$14.25M, 10:$15.75M That'd be over $30 mil we'd be taking on... which I just can't see Hendry doing with the ownership situation in flux. We could get the Blue Jays to pick up some of the tab, but it'd cost us even more than it already would in talent. Vitters, Ceda, Pie, Hill, Cedeno, and maybe even some guy like Rundle for Halladay + 7 mil?
  19. I'd rather he didn't get called up. Knowing this organization, if he pitched well out of the bullpen, he'd probably be stuck there for the next few years.
  20. Hill and Samardzija going tomorrow, I assume? Should be an interesting day if that's the case.
  21. I suspect the percentage of OHers that overvalue O's players is not particularly dissimilar to the percentage of NSBBers that overvalue Cub players. That's probably true. But our board has the good sense to aggressively mock people with stupid opinions, which acts as an ignorance prophylactic of sorts and cuts down on the completely outlandish trade scenarios. They're too polite over there, and it results in people actually spreading their stupid opinions to others.
  22. Most of OH thinks they should get Rasmus and maybe more for George Sherrill...
  23. Lou was sending Aramis... since we all know that everybody must be in motion on 3-2 counts, regardless of how many outs there are, or who the baserunner is. Doug Davis picked him off first.
