  1. Aw. :( Keep checking back ... seriously, I pulled up that ticketing window about 20 times before it finally clicked through for me. My friend said it told him there were only terrace reserved available, but then coughed up the two UD tickets.
  2. Tickets for the Saturday and Sunday White Sox games are being released through Cubs.com. I don't know if there's going to be much availability beyond scattered singles. I was able to get one terrace box infield for Sunday's game, and a friend got two UD for Saturday's. I had to try several times for the Sunday game because it kept giving me the message that the game was sold out.
  3. The batting story was hilarious. :) Walt Nolen is doing a journal at http://www.topprospectalert.com/. There are only two entries (but the second is dated today). It seems to be more of a straightforward update on how the Chiefs are doing than minor league life, at least so far.
  4. so when they dont win, can we not send them? id love to watch this, but when cubs get hurt ill be very upset. As will I. Maybe some of the position players. It just seems that we all complain about the pitchers being overpitched as it is.
  5. After the Cubs win the world series, they can send players to play for the World Cup.
  6. Brenly just said Zambrano left the game with "lateral forearm tightness." He and Kasper are speculating that it might be the dehydration issue again, but I don't that's any official word yet.
  7. They aren't anticipating that he'll last long.
  8. I would think the decision to start Leicester would be on Hendry moreso than Baker. Is there any final word on who was sent back down?
  9. I'm sorry for insulting your son on Mother's Day, Mrs. Macias. That's pretty much what I expected. Very high brow stuff. I said I was sorry. You're being mean-spirited and unforgiving, ma'am. That's strike 2. Avoid the personal attacks and stay on topic. Thanks in advance.
  10. A 2005-06 Peoria Chiefs calendar and an April 05 Wrigley Field scorecard have been added to the prize packages.
  11. If it's donuts, Andy Sisco can. :) Where's Lenny Harris when you need him?
  12. What Raisin said. :) If someone doesn't have the game thread up in time, people can volunteer to spot-start or one of us will ask someone to spot-start (one and done). I'll usually ask someone who signed up to do it (and someone who is toward the bottom of the list of people who hadn't done it yet) and who shows up as being online. If you're interested, make sure your PM notification is on! Anyone can start the Other Games threads.
  13. I was thinking the same thing! :) But Aramis is going rack 'em up, too.
  14. WELL ... DLEE is on pace to hit 54 home runs. 8) :D The highest number of home runs that anyone predicted was 45 by Coach_C.
  15. They needed their rest because they'd be playing in the day game following the night game ... Or maybe not. :-s
  16. Bruce Miles writes that Wood is feeling better, but the indications of the problem being in the "posterior rotator cuff" sounds worrisome to me. :? I don't like hearing about rotator cuffs in connections with pitchers.
  17. Send Tim and/or 1908 a PM with the new title request.
  18. I didn't see the game on tv. I'm reading that Dusty was shown talking with Rothschild and that Rothschild motioned indicating that Fox should face one more batter (and then Fox blew out his elbow). It's hard to fathom what they can even be thinking ... :x I guess Ice wasn't available because he was tasked with protecting the bullpen from foul balls.
  19. No, still Going Going Gone ... to Get More Beer They usually just change it for each homestand in the beginning of the season, then step up their game as the season progresses. :)
  20. That's only unbelievable if you assume we have a competent manager... It's called playing the percentages. Love the sig... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Likewise. You found the perfect expressions for each of them. The look on poor Dubois' face ... (laugh or cry)
  21. That's only unbelievable if you assume we have a competent manager... My friend nearly had a stroke when that happened. He was yelling at Dusty (well, from the UD box seat) and a doofus in front of us was trying to tell us that it was all good because Macias is a switch-hitter. THEN after Macias grounded out, he turned around and said, "see, at least he advanced the runner!" ](*,) Yep, that came in handy. Who could have foreseen Burnitz K-ing? As an aside, I was in the bathroom when Lee doubled and heard Santo say, "Well, I'm glad he's standing on second and not on third right now." Poor Ron.
  22. I kind of figured that's what you might be interested in. :)
