    Cubs.com informed me that Maddux & Lee are the first Cubs teammates to win GGs since 1992. 2 minutes at baseballreference.com dredged up this trivia info (please post any corrections if I goofed up). The GGs have been awarded since 1957. Maddux holds the NL records for total number of GGs (15) and the number of GGs by a pitcher. He also holds the record for the number of GGs by a pitcher awarded within either league. Jim Kaat holds the overall record for total number of GGs (16) by a pitcher. He won 14 in the AL and 2 in the NL. Brooks Robinson ties with Kaat for the most GGs (16) and holds the most GGs awarded within one league.     The Woods' annual charity fundraising event to benefit pediatric cancer research at the Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago will be held Saturday, November 12. Here's the MLB.com article on it.

    What throws fuel on the fire of any rumor these days *cough*dustytothedodgers*cough**hack**cough* is that MLB frowns upon teams announcing much of anything during post-season play. I mean, they COULD have agreed to huge mega deals and they just can't SAY anything because of pesky Selig. Right?!?!

    of course -- for some reason I totally misread what I quoted before. Must have been running on fumes when I posted -- sorry. :oops: Like craig said, I would think there are plans in place or in motion to guarantee him a spot (even if he's seen as tradebait). His AFL gig wouldn't seem to make any sense otherwise.

    The 2003-2004 calendar that Mark Peel pulled together has the '03 date listed as October 26 for the starting point of the process.

    Isn't that the very definition of a bandwagon fan? Not really since i'm not going to celebrate if the Sox win or anythign and buy hats and shirts or even really care. I'm just not going to be terribly upset if they win. You know.. if they win good for them, i'm not going to cry and think about how horrible it is. Win Win

    That stinks, Raisin. Glad the trouble didn't get worse. My stepdad is a huge Sox fan and he avoids both labels. He's also been embarrassed by some of the behavior of his fellow fans in the past.

    My brother paid $20 to park in their lot one afternoon when he was running late and they gave him two beat-up Wrigley seats. It was after they were bought out but before they moved.
