    Gallagher allows a solo HR in the 5th; Daytona leads 5-1. Matt Craig hit a 3-run HR and 2 runs scored on a wierd play in the 3rd when the Yankees thought they had a 5-3 double play and left the field before realizing the 3B ump ruled the baserunner safe.

    Too bad Barrett can't pitch. Back when the pitching was good, the pitchers had attitude. Now that just Z and Barrett have attitudes, they're the bad guys.

    Dude, I think you might need spectacles, or CBSsportsline needs new workers. They said he flied out DEEP to left field. fight!, fight!, fight!, fight!, fight! Fred doesn't fight. I'm not sure he isn't a robot who posts the play by play, because he gets in a zone and loses focus of all other postings around him I'm pretty sure it's only some postings.

    That's part of the reason they brought in Dusty after Don Baylor (& Bruce Kimm). They figured Dusty wouldn't have arguements with players via the media.

    williams would have more value with this option year in a trade, right? so i dont see how the cubs shouldnt bring up williams and send guzman down. That's what I was thinking ... I assume the option year would transfer to the new team if he were traded.

    From what I've read recently on The Cub Reporter and a Bleed Cubbie Blue diary, it appears that the Cubs need to call up Jerome Williams by May 11 if they hope to keep his final option year in 2007. Williams was optioned to the minors on 4/22; he would have to be recalled by Day 20 (5/11). I thought this was interesting given Guzman & Hill recently being added to the rotation. I wonder what the odds are that Williams ends up starting that Friday (5/12) game instead of Guzman.

    It sounded like he was using his changeup more frequently tonight and got at least one K with it. The three doubles are the most XBH he's allowed in a game so far this season. His BAA is up to .276, 42 hits allowed, 35 singles / 6 doubles / 1HR. ERA 1.96 / WHIP 1.23 / FO-GO 17-51 / K-BB 43-9. :( The good relay throw in the 9th was Weston - Simokaitis - Rick (I thought it was Fuld).

    Jon Hunton gives up 4R, including a 3R-HR, in the 9th to tie the Daytona game at 6. The inning ends with a close play at the plate, but a great relay from Fuld - Simokaitis - Rick gets the runner! To the 10th, tied 6-6. ETA: Fox is DHing today.

    Theriot replaced Restovich on the 25-man. Theriot was already on the 40-man. Restovich is no longer on the 40-man, so there is a spot open. That spot could be taken by Wade Miller when he returns off the 60-day DL (He's eligible to be activated on June 1 or 2).
