    ? and what is calling people out without having the guts to call them out by name? It's called obeying the rules. "attack the arguement, not the poster". . Oldcubsfan is staying within the rules. BTW Prior is a wuss. :wink: I didn't realize the way to get around that rule was to generally attack the board....hmmmm I should use that. :o I wouldn't suggest it as a long-term strategy. When it comes to Prior being on the DL, it's not like there's a renegade point of view on this. Many people think he's a wimp; he was on 'roids; he's injured and has been injured for a while; you name it. It's silly to be all mysterious and self-important about opinions on this, regardless of what they are.

    I won't break down Guzman here (I think it was mostly location, but I'll leave that to people who watched him closer-I was slightly distracted the first couple innings), but I will tell you the Rockies deserved all their runs. Those weren't bloops and dunks-they hit him all over the yard and hit pretty much every hit very hard until they pulled him. Wasn't a good outing. There was a troubling inconsistency in his velocity (or in the radar gun -- hard to tell). He didn't mix his pitches very well (for whatever reason) and he missed a lot with his location. It's Z + a rookie rotation now. It's going to be really inconsistent -- good, bad and ugly outings. Keep marching him out but keep a careful eye on him. Up until this season, Prior has been an Iron Man compared to Guzman.

    It's worth noting that this was posted back in March. The article can be found here. edit - He also includes this link to help explain Prior's injury. The 1060 West blog also discussed the ramifications when the injury was diagnosed this past spring.

    Thanks, OO. I suppose over the course of a season, short timeframes would include peaks and valleys in BABIP.

    Glad to see the Guz get the call. It was the obvious thing to do, but OBVIOUSLY the OBVIOUS sometimes escapes the Cubs. Everyone used to joke about how Josh Fogg's picture when he was a Pirate looked like he had beer farts. It's still the same now that he's with the Rockies.
