    Z could probably use an extra day sometime instead of the team going to a 4-man rotation every time there's an off-day.

    Gallagher out after 6: 6 innings, 103 pitches, 3 hits, 1R, 1ER, 8Ks, 5BBs, 6GO-3FO Still too many BBs. A lot of full counts on both the Ks and the BBs. No extra-base hits.

    I looked away for a moment and the Cubs weren't batting anymore.

    Top of 6th EPatt solo HR!!!! Bottom of 6th K (on a changeup) guy got on first, don't know how (scored DK) 6-4 putout, throw to 1st not in time (softly hit) 2-6 caught stealing, perfect throw by Jake Fox After 6, 1-1 tie Gallagher is over 100 pitches.

    He got it off in plenty of time, too. Now if only he could hit... ha ha, my thoughts exactly.

    Sorry for the spotty play by play, but I'M MULTI-TASKING! Jaxx don't score in the top of the 5th. There was apparently a play involving a throwing error on Gallagher, though Ron's description of the subsequent Listach-visit-to-the-mound indicated that Sing may have missed a play? Maybe a pickoff? I don't know. A subsequent single puts runners on 1st and 3rd with one out, then Gallagher walks the next batter to load the bases. There's then a discussion of how good pitchers have to rise above errors behind them (or, apparently, charged to them). Gallagher goes 3-0 on the next batter, comes back with a K, then gets a grounder for the force out at 2B. HR ERIC PATTERSON!!!! TIE GAME 1-1 pitching change in the top of the 6th, no outs

    Jacksonville 1, West Tenn 0 after 4 Top of the 4th - Jaxx load the bases with one out but fail to score Bottom of the 4th infield single (first hit) SB Then I missed how they scored, sorry! Ron said one run on two hits. There was a K to end the inning.

    Did you see in the Trib about Z asking if he could play LF? :) Did he really? That's awesome. Was he serious about it?! It was in a Sullivan notes article last night, I'd give a link but I have about 8 programs open right now and don't want to go searching for it. Sullivan said it was "facetious" but there were about 2 paragraphs of Dusty raving about how Z could do anything he wanted to do, which we all know.

    Gallagher just got nailed by a 'wicked' line drive in the midsection. Ron: "Let's just say that he could be singing Michael Jackson later on tonight." He fielded it off his body and got the out at 1B. They checked him out and he's staying in. Hope he's ok. 1st Inning BB to Adam Greenberg on a full count Flyout to OF 1-3 (the line drive) K

    This may have been mentioned in one of the game threads, but Nic Jackson has a "very bad" hip flexor injury. Ron said on tonight's pre-game show that there's a strong possibility that he could wind up missing the rest of the season.

    I've said this in other threads and I realize it's Just My Opinion, but I think there's about zero chance of Maddux coming back to the Cubs as a pitcher.

    That was the prevailing rumor at the time. He was hesitant about returning to the Cubs.
