  1. Aramis? What about Mabry? (note: I think he's finally rounding 2nd) Actually, I was referring to bat speed. No one was faster than Todd Coffey today, and the Reds did win, so........
  2. Speaking of fast, I couldn't believe how quickly Aramis got around on that bomb he hit. Now that was fast.
  3. What is the purpose of this? Does this strengthen your side of this debate? I don't think so.
  4. And if Dave Ross catches the foul pop up, Derrek Lee doesn't crush that home run. If Barrett was supposed to be flawless today, we must also assume that Ross would be flawless as well. So, no, the game would not have been tied if Barrett didn't make those two boneheaded plays. We still would have been down.
  5. Cedeno did look over there, he just assumed that the look would be enough to stop Freel in his tracks. He assumed incorrectly. But, Cedeno did rifle the throw to 1st. The only way the Cubs get Freel there is if Barrett blocks the plate.
  6. Gotcha beat. I cut him after he didn't play Monday and I read he wasn't going to be a starter. Bow down, for I am soapy, lord of the idiots. Nah, lord of the idiots is the Reds manager, who is starting Womack over Freel. Thank you, may I have another.
  7. Cedeno definitely could have looked him back a bit longer, but why was Barrett not in position to block the plate? Especially after making a bad throw to allow the runner to advance to 3b in the first place.
  8. Very good ones I might add. cheerleaders or fans? Uh, cheerleaders!
  9. Hey, Murton will bat in the top of the 9th if you want comfort. He's totally due.
  10. Coffey just set a record from the Reds bullpen to the mound.
  11. Fake throw to 2nd by Williamson. While Dunn was casually returning to the bag, he tripped over 2nd base and basically stumbled about 10 feet towards RF. Williamson then decided to throw to Walker, but the throw was in the dirt and nearly skipped into CF. A good throw might have nailed Dunn returning from his blunder. It was quite comical.
  12. I wouldn't call it a great choice, though it did have a great outcome. Knowing that Arroyo could get pulled based on his pitch count, a switch hitting PH might have been in order with guys in the bullpen from both sides, but I'm not going to complain. Give the guy some credit, the move worked. I'm sure he was hoping for a homer in that situation... It worked and I said I wouldn't complain, but when they announced Mabry you knew that he would be facing a lefty reliever. Playing the percentages, this would be a poor choice. But, I'm not complaining because it did work out.
  13. We'll take it -- can we send you some Cub futility in return? :D =D>

  15. Dusty getting no extension at all is how I would like to interpret it, but it's only wishful thinking.

    Bonds

When I saw Barry Bonds cry, I took back all the evil thoughts I've had about him. I hope he breaks the HR record and fans everywhere rejoice and share in his accomplishments. Ah, just kidding. When Bonds started sobbing, I changed the channel.
  17. Can you blame them? Look how Willis turned out for them.
  18. I don't think he'd typically start over the guys mentioned, but he makes for a decent option when playing in such a hitter's park with known bad pitching (GAP) or on an off day for some of the other outfielders (if you can make daily line up changes.
  19. It's probably Dmitri Young, since Delmon is still in the minors.
