  1. There was one point in the game where Brooks threw the ball towards Moss on the sideline and Moss didn't even attempt to raise his hands to catch it. Next series of downs, Brooks was on the bench. Something seems to be amiss in Raiderland. BTW, the Chargers defensive celebrations were in honor/memory of Steve Foley.
  2. What was the name of that idiot that was catching punts last year? Bobby something. Huge upgrade.
  3. Other than waiting until a decision is made on CFers for next year, I'm pretty comfortable with Bonderman, Wang, Verlander, Cain, Baldelli, Johjima, Rolen, Uggla, Rollins and one of Frank Thomas, Ken Griffey, Mike Cameron, Ervin Santana, Joe Blanton or Adam Wainright. I'm sure trades will definitely be forthcoming. I have plenty of cap room to take on a stud or two. With Tulowitzki poised to take over at SS in Colorado and Rollins putting up a pretty solid year, I'll definitely be ready to do a little shopping this offseason. If CF becomes a position for 2007, I may keep Baldelli, Griffey and Cameron.
  4. In Pittsburgh, there was no way Miami was beating the Steelers. I'm 1-0.
  5. Favre isn't what the Bears need. A good pass catching tight end would do wonders.
  6. He really needs a haircut.
  7. Not sure I'd call it a bad break. Bad call, yes.
  8. With the right players, I could manage a team to the playoffs.
  9. Fired up for a new season, one of the best defenses in the entire NFL going against a horrible offensive line and a quarterback who needs time to find open receivers against a division rival could spell excellent field position for the offense. I think this game will be +10 Bears.
  10. I would hope it wasn't Rusch. We could really use that spot on the 40 man to protect a prospect.
  11. Insert American Pie joke here...... Stiffler's mom has got it goin' on.
  12. Don't forget the sandwich picks we'll get when Pierre leaves and Aramis opts out.
  13. I said that and I really wasn't all that excited about Furcal. I wanted Nomar back. Furcal wouldn't have needed to be brought up in what if discussions if Hendry went after the players he very easily could have lured here. Guys like Vlady, Beltran, Tejada, etc... Overpay for a good player= worth it if a good player puts your team over the top. Overpay for a mediocre player= lack of funding to sign a good player and he isn't good enough to put your team over the top.
  14. Furcal- .361 OBP/ 94 runs scored. Pierre- .334 OBP/ 70 runs scored. Now, take the 18 times that Pierre has been caught stealing off his OBP and what do you have. It's even worse. Furcal has been caught stealing 11 times. Pierre, Rusch and Neifi's salary's combined equals Furcal. Furcal would have costed a draft pick. Pierre costed Nolasco, Pinto and Mitre. The Cubs could have landed Furcal and signed Lofton on the cheap. Who ran over Lee? People say there is no such thing as a curse, but how else do you explain the success of the Dodgers with guys like Mueller, Nomar, Furcal, Lofton and now Maddux, and the Cubs best player gets injured most of the year by one of those guys while the rest of the team spontaneously combusts. I don't believe in curses. What I do believe is that Hendry and Baker have had way more than enough time to prove they don't belong here.
  15. Agreed. However, there should be plenty of space on the 40 man roster when the time comes.
  16. Now hitting before Derrek Lee ever picks up a bat is...... Rey Ordonez, Damian Jackson, Lenny Harris, Neifi Perez, Freddy Bynum, Jose Macias, etc.....
  17. Yep. They love that they don't ever have to break into a sweat. The ability to go straight from the field to a 4 star restaraunt without having to hit the showers is wonderful.
  18. Coincidentally, I just received an email from Cubs.com informing me that there are still tickets available for some of the remaining games.
  19. LOB is how many guys were left on base after 3 outs. Double plays, pick offs and caught stealing along with force outs and fly balls that nail a runner attempting to advance with less than 2 outs are just some of the ways OBP can be higher but have a lower LOB. And the team who gets on base the least is typically going to be right there in terms of having the lowest percentage of runners left on base.
  20. It's sarcasm. I don't know what Hendry spent the 4.1m on. It could have been spent on anyone.
  21. Likes- It's football season. Go Bears! Dislikes- Tim does not have the bandwidth for me to compile that list.
  22. I am so embarrassed that I picked this team to finish 3rd in the Central.
  23. I vividly recall Dusty publicly bashing Corey Patterson right on the baseball field. When has Dusty ever done this with a veteran? I can think of many instances where he should have. If anyone feels that Dusty treats everyone equally, I can respect your opinion. But, why must anyone feel the need to degrade someone who doesn't see it that way. I think there is enough evidence out there to at least give someone the impression he doesn't treat people fairly. Jacque Jones is horrible against lefties. Jacque Jones plays everyday. Matt Murton slumped earlier in the year and he's been permanently banned to a platoon role. Why does Jacque play against lefties? If Murton is platooned, so should Jacque. How many more times has Neifi hit 2nd than Murton? Who is a more viable candidate to hit 2nd? I rest my case.
  24. How many outs do there have to be to be an acceptable practice to kick the ball into the ivy and then use your cleats to yank ivy off the wall to hide the ball instead of just bending over to pick it up. I don't recall Dusty ever getting on Moises Alou about that fine hustling play. I seem to recall that Dusty covered for Moises on that play and many of his base running blunders, check swing ground outs, poor routes to fly balls, etc.... And Moises didn't miss an inning in that game or the next.
