  1. Seems as though the Reds players love this song and do everything they can to hear it. Win today and it will likely enter the charts as one of the most played songs of the month.
  2. That may be true. But I did see it from a page that had Schefter's name attached to it. Sorry I didn't link it. Wasn't really posting to "be first". Especially since this isn't a move that moves any needles in any dramatic directions. Apologies if it turns out to be bogus.
  3. Sounds like the Bears are about to sign veteran free agent EDGE Hassan Reddick.
  4. Not sure if they have injured starters or not, but not impressed with the ERA's of the 4 guys slated to start for them in this series. Their bats seem pretty legit. Meanwhile, rotating heroes on the Cubs roster is making this team a lot of fun right now. Same roster as the guys that were frustrating the hell out of us a month ago. More heroism please.
  5. I'd be surprised if they didn't bring someone in. June 1 is the next wave of roster cuts. Should learn something soon after that.
  6. I questioned many of the picks last year and that turned out to be a great draft, so I'm keeping my mouth shut on this year's draft.
  7. Do you restructure someone's contract and then trade him?
  8. Last year's draft perplexed me enough and that draft turned out to be very good, so I'm not going to question this year's draft. Seems like some of these picks may not pay off quite as quickly as last year. Each pick after the first seems like it had some value, even if you weren't a fan of the pick. Roush being a solid catch/block TE combo that will help the run and pass game. Jones being a guy that will be the starting Center no later than week one 2027 for the next 10 years. And Thomas who was the second fastest player in the draft, and Johnson knows how to get speedy guys. Thought for sure they would go EDGE with the Loveland pick and every pick after that, but they still haven't drafted one. Weird. I do think they would have grabbed Jacas if New England didn't snag him a few picks before the Bears picked. I do think Turner might get more work at EDGE than DT in Allen's system, but they still need another DT. Maybe they can trade for one. Some mocks had the Bears grabbing a T with one of the first three picks. Seems like they are going to hope of of Jones, WIlls or Benedet can nail down the position until Trapilo comes back late 2026-2027, or at least tag team it.
  9. There were some extremely great defensive plays last night. Hoerner's relay from Seiya was primo. The carom off Busch that Hoerner caught bare handed way high up in the air while immediately firing to first to barely beat the runner was incredible. As good as those were, the Pages to Kim to Will Smith relay to get Happ might have been the play of the night. Pages knew he had to be quick and I might have to see it again, but it looked like he turned and winged it while off balance and in air for a perfect strike to Kim, and the throw from Kim was perfect. Absolutely the only way they get Happ. Probably a less than 5% chance of recording an out and 5% might be generous.
  10. Yes it was Randazzo. Dontrelle Willis annoyed me more than Randazzo. Willis likes to shake his head in agreement when there is nothing to even agree with. Very weird. He's like a bobblehead that won't stop bobbing his head.
  11. Pretty sure Kingery will be replaced by Lopez. Those defensive gaffs were unacceptable in his limited time on the field. Dansby seemed overly annoyed at him and we need the good players to not be overly annoyed and risking mistakes because they can't trust Kingery.
  12. Regarding Bregman's "triple"...... It hit above the basket, did it not? So if it deposits in the basket, it's a HR, but if it finds it's way back to the field of play, it isn't? I know there is a yellow line there, also, but I'm failing to understand why that wasn't ruled a HR.
  13. Surely there is someone in the organization that would be better as the last bench option than Kingery. Hopefully that's the last time we see him on the left side of the infield.
  14. Seemed like a web gem every inning last night. Fun baseball.
  15. My question is.....do the Mets have a more GB friendly reliever warmed up and ready to come in to improve the chances of a double play since it was already a bad situation of having PCA on 2b with no outs to start the inning. You get the K you need to make a double play possible, but then just pitch to one of the best contact hitters in baseball with no DP option on the table since no one was on 1st. Whether you pitch to Busch or Bregman to try to induce that GB is based on what arm the reliever coming in throws with. It was an impossible situation, but pitching to Nico seems like the craziest idea and I'm certainly thrilled that they chose that route. Not only is Nico a great contact hitter, but he's leading the NL in RBI.
  16. If we think the Cubs roster has been depleted of pitchers, I can't imagine what it's looking like in Iowa right now.
  17. CBS feed is suffering some major feedback. I change channels and it’s fine. Even the commercials are fuzzy. Weird.
  18. Sure seems like they have been garbage to me. Looking at the splits, I'd say yeah, they've mostly sucked so far.
  19. Scheffler is knocking on the door.
  20. I forgot about those two. They weren't in the starting line up the other day and I thought the starting line up looked like ass.
  21. Is there a single player on the roster worth keeping around, or should we expect to see even further tear down on this rebuild?
  22. So good to see Busch proving he needs to be playing every day. I think the cold weather had a lot to do with the infield looking a bit slow getting after ground balls. I'm not concerned about Bregman at 3b. Yesterday's umpire was really bad at calling balls and strikes. So many balls that could have been challenged, and when they finally challenge one, they end up challenging one that was actually a strike. Frustrating.
