  1. Haha. Where have you been? Tailgaiting for Padres games went out the window when they moved to Petco Park. You can still tailgate at Charger games.
  2. Let's pick someone who is less likely to have the ban hammer dropped on them rather than more likely.
  3. Stupid Mets and Brewers. Those 2 games at LA are the only dates I would NOT be able to go to LA to see the games. But, I am fixing on setting up a tv in my little work space for both of those dates. Just gotta bring enough cable and a splitter. :D
  4. Can't we just ask for the guys who do golf and tennis, so they can whisper the play by play?
  5. that are taking place on monday and tuesday. and the fantasy week runs monday-sunday...or at least it has every other week in this league's history. i would have guessed neither game counted. Even though I really never agree with Adam about anything, I agree with him here. We don't count games outside of the week of play for anything else, why would we do it now?
  6. Except that the Dodgers scored at exactly the same rate on the road as at home, which is weird. Notice my previous post where I said "park and division". Petco is the worst park in the league for hitting, and it's the best for pitching. San Francisco is also a better pitcher's park than hitter's park. Colorado didn't play nearly as much as a hitter's park as it has in year's past. That leaves Arizona, where it is typically a good hitter's park unless you are facing Webb, Haren and RJ. Those other NLW parks are why the Dodgers road scoring is sorta in sync with their home park values, IMO.
  7. The example that came to mind for me recently was the recent high school graduate who rode his motorcycle across the school quad and got sentenced to a year in jail, yet a handful of high schoolers decided to beat a mexican aggraculture worker to within an inch of his life in what was basically a hate crime, and so far, not one kid has gotten anything more than probation.
  8. I understand where you are coming from. It was really fun watching THIS team all season long. We may not have THIS team next year (minus a few idiots who tried unsuccessfully to ruin our playoff hopes). Maybe it will be a better team, but maybe it will be a worse team. A different team means it won't be THIS team, and I can agree that it kinda sucks in that aspect. But, I don't have time to dwell on that right now. We have playoff games to win right now.
  9. The Dodgers R/9 and ERA is directly related to the park and division they play in. 81 of their games are played in one of the top 3 worst hitting parks in baseball. In other words, they would have a better average of runs per game if they played just about anywhere else, but their ERA would be worse if they played anywhere else. Just about every year, the Dodgers are among the league leaders in ERA and towards the bottom in runs scored. With that said, I think in a neutral park, the Cubs offense would still be ahead of the Dodgers in runs per game, and they'd be WAY ahead in ERA.
  10. This is a very accurate portrayal of Orton and Rex.
  11. 4 years in a state prison? Are you freakin' kidding me? This country really needs a reality check on punishment fitting the crime. People kill other people or permanently hurt someone and don't get 4 freakin' years.
  12. Cool. Let's try really hard to win this one. NO HOWRY!
  13. Hoffpauir does play the field better than Ward, so he's got that going for him as well. If Fukudome were to continue to struggle, I like the idea of Hoffpauir getting a start in his place over someone like Ward.
  14. Did you watch last night's game? As nasty as it was, I wouldn't want Marmol sitting in the bullpen, let alone coming into the game. The game was virtually meaningless for the Cubs. Do you believe that risking someone's health to help win a meaningless ball game is really in the best interests of the team?
  15. Never thought it could ever happen, but I'm now thoroughly convinced Howry could give up a 6 run homer.
  16. Yeah, Fielder was the only lefty in the line up, and they scored one run off Duke.
  17. Let 'em whine. It's not our fault that the absolute worst line up we could throw at the Mets tonight has scored 5 more runs than Milwaukee's best line up has been able to score against Zach Duke.
  18. The part that I don't understand is how the defense hasn't figured out yet how to defend Howry's pitches. They've seen him give up that same pitch thousands of times this year. It's clearly the defense's fault these runs scored. Not Howry. :-))
  19. Ya gotta like Howry. He's not an excuse maker.
  20. What the Howry? Lou really does have it in for Milwaukee, doesn't he? Why on Earth would he bring in Howry in this situation?
  21. Yeah, but Micah in Latin means "will beat you to death with a big stick" I thought that was Geovany? No, but you are close. Geovany in Latin is "will have his way with you with a big stick"
  22. Yeah, but Micah in Latin means "will beat you to death with a big stick"
  23. He works at Pechanga in Temecula, CA. Not sure why they are the pre and post party headquarters. They really aren't all that close to LA. In fact, it's a pain in the butt to get to LA from Temecula, IMHO.
