    If that. What is the plan in The STL? They look like they are ripe for a tear-down, particularly on the pitching staff. Do they simply prefer to try and luck into the playoffs via Pujols and (when healthy) Carpenter? It seems to me that the plan is for a rebuilding year. Develop some guys like Hoffpauir, Rasmus and Perez for late callups, avoid spending in a mediocre FA class, get a few long term pieces via trade and make a move in '09. I wouldn't be heartbroken if that was the plan, I just want to know for sure that there is a plan and these signings aren't from a GM who thinks these guys like Izturis and Piniero are actually good.

    Hollinger. From what I saw in person, I'd agree that it is the worst NBA offense I've ever seen.

    I have a feeling Dempsey might get dumped back onto the wing until Szetela is ready. That would be fine with me if it means Adu and Altidore up front. I hope McBride gets healthy so Clint can have a consistent midfield position for both club and country instead of just jumping back and forth.

    Beasley looks to be out until next fall. Eddie Lewis, Bobby Convey, Danny Szetela and whoever are going to have to step up for qualifying.

    So that's what he's been doing when not with Van Halen. :lol: OK, My question is if La Russa really did learn a lesson and feels remorse then why is he hiding behind his attorney? Let him be a man and come out and make that statement himself. Face the media and act like he has a set. LOL, he already did plenty of that last spring and again after Hancock's crash. The trial at this point, was a formality. The plea was already worked out.

That's the only reason I can see for telling us this information. :cry: Our SS position is bad enough that Wilson would probably be a bad gamble but not a horrible one. At least he's had a couple years of good production for a SS. His defense is also better than Theriot's. I'm not saying I would want to trade for him, but he almost certainly would be an upgrade and possibly a significant one. I agree. If either the Cubs or Cards get him and he is the center piece of their offseason, then they are in trouble. If he is acquired and further moves are made then he could be a very solid pick up. He isn't going to be a difference maker, but he'll be around average offensively and slightly above defensively.

    you stayed about 2 seconds longer than necessary Unless it was to go into that giant Cabella's. That's the only thing I've ever done in WV. West Virginia is a beautiful state to drive through. Just don't make eye contact with anyone.

    If they get Izturis, what would he do? .300 with 20 homers? I'd rather have Izturis than Jack Wilson's hideous contract. :-& 08:$6.5M, 09:$7.25M, 10:$8.4M club option ($0.6M buyout) isn't hideous. It's not ideal, but it isn't hideous.

    Yes because Thabo, Ben Gordon and Tyrus Thomas have no tattoos are are white. Deng has tats, but is white so it's okay.

    I've been thinking about that. As far as season's to tank go, this is a pretty good one. Eric Gordon is looking legit, Rose is good, I haven't seen Mayo but I soon will.

    They need to give him whatever he wants. No other manager out there has the experience with the English media or the English player with his superb pedigree as well. Somebody needs to go in there and make those whiny babies play like a team.

    Adu scored again over the weekend. I'm really impressed with his development in a league much more suited to his strengths. It's becoming apparent that his MLS struggles had more to do with the workmanlike level of talent and physicality and less to do with his attitude. Billy Davies is finally out at Derby County. Hopefully the ridiculous situation of Feilhaber riding the pine will be rectified and he'll get a little first-team premiership action under the new coach before relegation. If not, he needs to transfer. It also seems the Jozy to Madrid isn't dead. Real Madrid sporting director assistant Carlos Bucero is in New York discussing the club's interest. NYRB are rich enough that the only teams that can even be in the hunt for Jozy are big clubs looking to spend pretty big money. Normally I'm staunchly in the camp of getting our players to Europe asap, but I wouldn't be too upset if Jozy stayed one more year. He has never played a full season and playing with guys like Angel, Richards, Reyna and whoever the new manager brings could be worse in terms of his development. If Arena was still there it would be a different story. Playing Jozy at left wing was the most ridiculous decision he has ever made.

    There is a chance Mexico won't make it out of their group. Obviously they should and probably will, but Canada, Jamaica and Honduras can all challenge. Donovan is licking his chops looking at all the easy, stat-padding goals to be had in group one. Talk about a cake walk.
