  1. Exactly. When one guy's upside is compared to Zach Randolph and Derrick Coleman and the other guy's upside is a hybrid of Jason Kidd's size, Tony Parker's speed and Dwyane Wade's hops then I think you know who you have to take. I think you're a bit too down on Beasley...he should be a better player than Coleman and Randolph. But that doesn't mean Rose is clearly more ideal, a better fit and a better talent. I'm not a sophisticated enough basketball critic to make the call on Beasley. I'm just going by what I'm reading. Btw, Beasley is rumored to be closer to 6'7 than 6'10.

  3. This is huge. Rose's vorp is much higher than Beasley's.
  4. Except that no, it wasn't a fluke. It was terrible defending by Vidic and Rio. I think Van Der Sar gets to that ball pretty easily if he didn't slip and fall down. It wouldn't have been easy. Slipping on a pitch doesn't make it a fluke. Slipping on a dry pitch maybe. Feilhaber injured himself in yesterday's u-23 match vs Turkey and has been replaced by Mo Edu in England. I'd rather see Edu get a showcase in England anyway.
  5. Except that no, it wasn't a fluke. It was terrible defending by Vidic and Rio. Typical Ronaldo arrogance thinking he can A) break the rules and B) continue with a terrible technique even though he has missed more pk's in a season than he should in a career. It's one thing for a keeper to get lucky and stone you, but to flat out miss 3 times in a season is bush league and entirely unacceptable for the world's best player. But yeah, go ahead and blame the pink shirt; I'm sure Ronaldo is.
  6. Thanks. I think he'll move upstairs. I'm curious as to what Roman is doing today? rolling around naked on piles and piles of money surrounded models. Approving plans for a yacht the size of a battleship.
  7. Wishful thinking. Not a chance in hell it happens. We've done it before. Didn't turn out so hot.
  8. Thanks. I think he'll move upstairs.
  9. Deng replaces Anthony Are the Bulls packaging 10 points a game in the trade along with Deng to cover for Carmelo? Nice edit job. Deng replaces Anthony, Hinrich moves AI to SG. Bam. Last I checked, yes, they would. Hinrich scores around 14. Nice try.
  10. Piss of to Inter, Didier. Screw off Anelka. You are the least compelling player ever. Ugh. JT. That's brutal. I am so pissed Ronaldo got this trophy. That pos pisses me off.
  11. I agree. I'm just pointing out the disparity. I mean, obviously there is a huge difference considering Benzema had a very nice showing for Lyon last year (24 games, 14 starts, 7 goals) and Bradley came out of nowhere this year. It's just pretty incredible what Bradley did this year, and if Bayern or Chelsea were talking about buying a midfielder from another country with an edge to him who scored 20 goals in the eredivisie, I'd expect a much higher transfer fee. I'd also be very, very excited.
  12. Deng replaces Anthony, Hinrich moves AI to SG. Bam. Well you often argue for LeBron over MJ, so that kind of highlights how unqualified that noise is. HA! But seriously though, you have a case. He does fill a more glaring need, I just like Rose's upside and potential and hate drafting for need. Plus my fan boy pipe dream of getting Carmelo fixes the go-to scorer need.
  13. USS, the game is next Wed. at 3pm est on ESPN Classic. Do they do HD? They better. My 3 to walk the plank are Eddie Johnson, Josh Wolff ([expletive] stop calling them up over Jozy) and Danny Califf. Convey and Lewis are contenders. I like Robbie Rogers and Stuart Holden better than them. I'd give Lewis a shot at right back in a meaningless friendly just to check him out maybe. Dan Califf just because he is [expletive] embarrassing. Kasey Keller would be number 4 probably. If Twellmen isn't done like it looks like he is, he makes the list too. Basically any forward who blocks Jozy can suck it. How about 3 players you'd like to see get a shot? For me, Orozco, Robbie Rogers and Sacha Kjlestan. Orozco is a solid central defender prospect with good touch, Rogers because we are weak at left mid and Kjlestan because homeboy has some offensive skillz.
  14. HELL. YES. VICTORY CIGAR IN TOW BITCHES! Trade Hinrich and Deng for Carmelo. Draft Rose. Instant contenders.
  15. Goff Suck it, Mexico (Orozco), Adu and Feilhaber in the shop window and please someone sign our aging, crap forwards (Wolff, Jaqua)! Selfishly would've liked to see Altidore, but with hints of fatigue and his minutes piling up this past season, why not save him for Spain or Argentina (considering he lives 3 blocks away from Meadowlands, he's a lock for that one). Would have also liked to see Edu, but I have a sneaking suspicion Clark is trying to make a move and they are putting him in the window too. Obviously Bradley is in the window, but he is at the point where he doesn't need any further advertising. By the way, I was thinking about this the other day. Karim Benzema, a 20 year old striker, scored 26 goals in Ligue Uhh last year. He is probably going to transfer somewhere (Man United) for around 30 million dollars. Michael Bradley, a 20 year old holding midfielder, scored 21 goals in the Eredivisie, a comprable league and will probably draw a transfer fee of around 12 million dollars this summer. No respect at all.
  16. http://bigapplesoccer.com/article.php?article_id=14063 That's why we weren't prepared for '06, genius. Good blog from Jozy on the upcoming friendlies: http://goal.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/05/16/jozy-altidore-in-the-pool/
  17. Beasley played for Ranger today. Bobby Convey, Eddie Lewis, thanks for your efforts, please enjoy the parting gifts.
  18. FYI, the Cardinals called up Chris Perez yesterday.
  19. You must a lot of hate, then. I'm used to it, I was raised catholic No, that's guilt. wow this exchange is one of the better ones I've seen. it's like my shirt that lists why sh** happens for each religious view says for the Catholics ... sh** happens because I deserve it. I'm pretty sure it's from either a Tarantino or Woody Allen movie.
  20. SBI on the 33 player pool Bradley released for the big 3 upcoming friendlies: Article on MLS turning down $8,000,000 transfer for Jozy from Reading.
  21. God, stop using that word. It makes you sound so bitter/pathetic. Well if that isn't the most ironic thing I've read today, I don't know what is.

  24. No, he was good at Wrigley because he was an other-worldly baseball player for a 6 year stretch from 2000-2005; consequently, those were the years he played in the National League Central against the Cubs. Ok, come clean. This is somebody's joke account, right? Tree? abuck? IMB? Rocket? Vance? Sulley? USS? Who is it? Mods, check the IP, nobody is this much of a caricature. I mean, come on, Don Kessinger sucked. don's been a member of the board for almost as long as i have...he's for real...who's joke account are you? You're right, I post nonsensical parodies of stereotypes in every one of my posts. I'm ZZ Thorn's joke account.
