  1. Well, as much as I'd hate to lose this season, if it led to contraction, that would be a silver lining.
  2. Spain down 2-0 at the half. Costa Rica has had 29% possession. Bob Bradley shouold [expletive] sue those stealers.
  3. Ok, so the Fab Johnson hype was, if anything, not big enough. That dude ballz.
  4. Instant alalysis: Fab Johnson = legit. Michael Bradley = a starter, duh. 4-4-2, inferior opponent, working wonders for the attack.

  6. That 'bout sums it up.
  7. Tim Ream & Omar Gonzalez = Maldini & Lucio.
  8. Juan Agudelo. Williams, for a German, plays unmistakeably American. All athleticism, no technique.
  9. Let's start naming big soccer legends who we think are mediocre. Jose Torres. Mixx Diskerrud. Mixx deserves a showcase at some point though.
  10. Yeah, he's part of our best eleven. No question. This isn't a case of the typical US Soccer fan reaction where players that don't play or aren't called up are a magic elixir that would have put us over the top. Usually those players are equally mediocre. Mikey is not.
  11. Totally. He's putting aspiration over pragmatism (while Bradley did the exact opposite) and we need someone who can balance both. It seems like they think we'll pay dues and keep trying and eventually there will be this watershed moment where the talent fits the system, but as long time observers of US Soccer will tell you, that's not going to happen in this generation. I'm dubious that even if all of a sudden the talent matched the system, it would work. I'm not so sure about that. Let me rephrase. I'm pretty sure that would not be the case. We'll breeze through the hex, but when it's go time, we should be nervous.
  12. He really does, doesn't he? We have like 9 (9!) central mids with equal talent but slightly different skills who are essentially the same player. It sucks. Torres, Kljestan, Williams, Jones, Bradley, Edu, Mixx, Beckerman, Johnson. You could make an argument to put Feilhaber on that list too. Ridiculous. Holden is our only true central mid who distinguishes himself and he's a gimp. Anyway, Tim Chandler is good. Really talented etc. He isn't a left back though. He did Shea zero favors who had to track back too much to do what he does best, run at and off people in the final third. Howard was great, Jozy was good and Clint did his damnedest, but everything else sucked.
  13. Oh very funny fake name, I don't have time for this. Was he sure it was even Sandusky? God knows they're squinters. laughs, tugs collar, makes goooo noise.
  14. Jozy's doing the damn business up top. Great target work, best I've seen from him. We need to get him service. They can't hang with him physically.
  15. People's capacity for real bias is fascinating.
  16. Something Franceca said was about how so many people at Penn State are all about Penn State and have always been at Penn State. Unlike many schools that strive for blending outsiders into their system to bring many viewpoints, Penn Staters are all proud about how many of them have always been Penn Staters and always will be. They take pride in their insularity. I'm guessing people who have always had full control of their little island don't think too much about how things can't always be contained. Cultish.
  17. Jesus christ, stop calling it D-Day. Day of days does not jive with kids getting raped and the chain of communication that followed it. It's unsettling for some reason.

  21. Hello sir, is there anything I can help you with? Show you the shoe section, maybe the hunting section? Oh! I know! Follow me, I'd like to show you our gun section where I will proceed to shoot you in your [expletive] face. 23. These Penn State students make me hope that what gets exposed is so bad that even the dumbest, most willfully ignorant of those jerks has no choice but to shut up immediately and hang their heads in shame. I hope Joe Paterno takes nothing but shame and anguish to his grave after seeing the appalling lack of perspective in his recent comments. [expletive] all of these scum bags. I know I shouldn't be this vindictive because no amount of righteous indignation can take back what happens to those kids, but [expletive], I want heads on stakes. I want legacies, careers and the entire football program burned to dust. I want this to be so exposed, so unarguably horrible that we as sports fans never forget and no coach or person in position to stop something like this from happening will ever repeat Joe Paterno's inexcusable catastrophic mistakes. After a career of spouting an inexhaustible stream of sanctimonious bull [expletive] that empowered these crimes and warped the perspective of hundreds of thousands of football fans and students, Paterno has earned every bit of the anger that I/we are sending his way.
  24. Wenger on Brek's training stint: Listen, I understand people who exclusively follow the EPL and the Champions League do so for good reason, it's the best. But trust me when I tell you that if I worked for the Chicago Bulls and they were bringing in a Center to work out, I would do due diligence to know what position the guys plays and what kind of talent he is before interviewing Coach Thibs about him. The Arsenal interviewer referred to Brek as a defender. I understand he played central defense in the European tour last winter, but good lord, he's not a defender. Know your [expletive].
  25. For all the people that feel sorry for Joe Pa's incredible run as head coach ending in a way that poisons his entire legacy, he had a choice. This is on him.
