  1. On twitter he claimed that's what he was trying to do. That was my thought at the time, but with Barton, you never know. So Klinsy released a preliminary 16 player roster for World Cup Qualifying and it's, well, I don't know. Goalkeepers: Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake) Defenders: Carlos Bocanegra (Rangers), Edgar Castillo (Club Tijuana), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover), Alfredo Morales (Hertha Berlin) Midfielders: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Michael Bradley (Chievo Verona), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Jose Torres (Pachuca), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim) Forwards: Clint Dempsey (Fulham) Edgar Castillo and no Eric Lichaj is ridiculous. Is Gooch hurt? Torres over Kljestan is dumb. There's a lot of questions with this roster. Apparently Chandler is out because he's tired (doesn't want to cap tie himself officially because he's a frankenstein looking scumbag) and Terrence Boyd is in but not officially announced.
  2. The rest was just practical strategy. His team was fighting relegation and he got sent off. Might as well try to bait some City players into getting sent off to even the playing field. Almost worked. Micah Richards had to pull Balotelli away by the shirt.
  3. He's looked very good this season.
  4. Maybe I'm being too much of a sports nihilist, but if you're not winning it all, what does it matter? If you think you're closer to a title by shedding salary and setting up a move or moves down the road, you should do it even if it makes you weaker in the short term.
  5. Bummer about Bolton. Holden & Ream in the championship is not ideal for many reasons.
  6. So, just a friendly reminder, there is a young boy who exists and carries the genes of both Kun Aguero & Diego Maradona.
  7. LOL @ City fans who left in a huff.
  8. Sports, you guys!
  9. OH. MY. GOD.
  10. A lot of fun dynamics in that game. Hughes vs the team that fired him, Hughes as Fergie's only hope for a title even though they hate each other, QPR trying to avoid relegation, City with tons of pressure on the brink of the title. I'm really excited for it. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/05/11/armchair-analyst-taking-notice-bradley-%E2%80%93-finally Yes please. Bradley to Inter would be astounding.
  11. I think you have to call Mirotic over from Real Madrid and find out if he's a real player or just another Euro guy who can't play in the league. If he's real, maybe that extends the championship window and you can afford to sit on that pick, but either way, we need to find out sooner than later.
  12. We don't need to blow the team up, we just need to get Deng and Noah to take a pay cut, amnesty Boozer, have Nicola Mirotic become the next Dirk, draft the next superstar with the Bobcats unprotected pick in 2016 and find a way to replace the Boozer money with an elite secondary, perimeter scorer (Harden) and BOOM we win every title until like 2025.
  13. Taylor Twellmen and Alexi Lalas have a podcast produced by ESPN called Big Head & Red Head. It's on iTunes. You should check it out if you're into MLS and USS. That will feel like home to Real (except for the humidity) Do they play lots of games there in the summer that I'm not aware of? All I'm saying is that instead of picking fun vacation spots, they should go somewhere with fewer distractions and more hospitable weather.
  14. The parade of summer cash grabs are being scheduled. Chelsea v AC Milan in Miami and Real Madrid v AC Milan in Vegas. Considering these are just cash grabs for the teams and unofficial party trips for players, these dudes are going to make those entire stadiums smell like vodka sweat. It's going to be hell in the dead of summer in both of those venues. I may have to get to that Vegas game. It'll be what, 95 with 100% humidity in Miami and 110 in Vegas? Yeah, guys who aren't in game shape, go run for 90 minutes straight. That'll be good. I feel like these organizers just know that these games are in "America" and that depending on location, that can be a 40 degree swing in temperature.
  15. Great article summing up the Guardiola era of Barcelona. Unquestionably one of the legendary managerial reins, albeit short-lived, in sports history. http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7886779/barcelona-manager-pep-guardiola-steps-down
  16. Jozy got knocked out in a game today. Hopefully this isn't a long-term concussion battle.
  17. I have zero desire to watch my favorite sport at its absolute best right now. I need a week or two. Can't do it.
  18. Still really bummed, you guys.
  19. Mancini almost got choked out with that scarf. SAF don't play, homey.
  20. If there is no cartilage damage, he could be back working out in 2-3 months. No playoffs, Olympics etc. Go Heat opponents! So bummed. Gonna be a long summer. Even with a good baseball team (zing).
  21. good news is that we might be better than everyone but miami without rose. Boston will beat us.
  22. Btw, Reggie Miller is the least tolerable nba analyst when things are bad. Or just in general but this is especially annoying.
  23. Party time, you guys.
