    um why? DFA Izturis and get someone useful on the bench. Fontenot can at least get on base. There is no reason for Izturis to be on this team when Ronny can be just as bad for so much less. Even if you sink the cost of Izturis, you are helping the team by removing him from the roster. You're probably right, I just don't have the energy to fight that battle. Getting a young kid with the potential to do better actually in the starting lineup has temporarily satisfied my appetite. Way to strive for mediocrity newbie. I'm just hoping they contend within the division. Back to back to back .500 seasons would be great. contending within the division is like cold emotionless sex. I know someone we can ask about the veracity of that claim.

    I think it is becoming apparent that the current fill-in tradition of having "celebrity" guest conductors is making a mockery of the Seventh Inning stretch at Wrigley. Let's brainstorm some suggestions on how to bring this back up to the standards it deserves. Once we have a few good ones, we can suggest them to cubs management. Any thoughts?

    My kid's school is doing TV tune out week this week so I won't see any game until next monday (solidarity is a b**ch). I have been informed by her though that I am allowed to listen on the radio so I got that goin' for me.

    This may be considered old news but David Kaplan just reported on WGN radio that Wade Miller was put on the DL with back spasms and Rocky Cherry has been called up to provide bull pen help. Also MP will have exploratory arthroscopic surgery tomorrow.
