  1. All of NSBB should buy up lotto tickets and hit Vegas (and other Casinos). If a couple of us hit big The Cubs could be the first ever team owned by a message board. Tim = GM? Team President - Tim GM - Hoops (or maybe OMC, he did play baseball you know...and he's a lawyer and all. ;-) )
  2. JJ!! http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/2653/dynomite2m3oh.jpg EDIT: Sorry, this took forever to get right. It's for Jones' hit.
  3. White Sox brought their hitting shoes and the Cubs have looked poor on defense. Guzman pitched ok but didn't strike anyone out. Right now. Cherry walked Thome. Cherry has looked pretty good today. 2 on and 2 out. Thanks, CubinNY. Current score?
  4. Anyone care to give a brief game recap and summary of what is happening right now?
  5. 7.0 IP, 6 ER, 10 R, 17 H, 3 K/0 BB. That's a 2.42 WHIP. That's disgusting! What? A Whip of approx 2.5 isn't good? Dude, this is 'mericuh. Bigger, More, larger is always better!!! YEEEE-HAAAW!!!
  6. Please forgive me if this is a dumb question but do civilians ever get a chance to try out for or walk on to a major league spring training camp? That'd be sweet!
  7. How could anyone have an actual answer for that? Just sayin'. How about pull it out of your donkey like most other posters around here.
  8. Is this a case where early year home-crowd reaction could influence performance? cheers and encouragement leads to improved confidence boos and jeers lead to decreased confidence Just askin'.
  9. What? He's 1-2 with a 2RBI... Stats lie. Floyd was lucky on his first hit and looked horrible on every swing. BLASPHEMY!! BE GONE, DEVIL!!!
  10. Thanks folks. Just joining in. Carry on. LET'S GO CUBS!!! LET'S GO CUBS!!! LET'S GO CUBS!!!
  11. Am I reading something wrong. Wood has 4 runs on 1 hit, one error and no BB?
  12. Who has a match to light the Bruce Signal?
  13. Anybody planning on doing play by play or give inning summaries to those of us without audio access?
  14. I think the idea is that, with increased emphasis on 100 mph heat comes decreased emphasis on control, and a guy might be drafted or called up to the majors primarily on the basis of his fastball, without concern for his inability to avoid hitting batters. Also, it's just plain harder to get out of the way. That's what I thought the poster meant.
  15. Bruce is too modest to post an actual link, so I will: http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/story.asp?id=285368
  16. Frustrating is an interesting word to use. Why did you choose it?
  17. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070219/capt.azmg20102191830.cubs_spring_baseball_azmg201.jpg Do you think that's his "gamer"?
  18. He had a gold glove the year before (2004).. which the statistics of the game were based off of. See, he can hit home runs with his glove.
  19. I like football. It's fun to watch. Go Bears. PLAY BALL!!!!!
  20. I would just like to say for the record, that my reference to rooting for the Bears felt like it is the equivalent to rooting for Katrina was only a reference to the fact that it is pretty lonely being a Bears fan in the US this weekend what with all the emotional energy put on the Saints and what it means to New Orleans. I'm sorry that people died in New Orleans. I really am. What happened there was truly awful. I also hope the Bears open up a Mardi Gras size can of whoop-a** on the Saints. GO BEARS!!
  21. Big difference between the Skins and Tampa Game, the Bears Won, the Saints lost. The giants suck and didnt deserve to be in the playoffs and the cowboys defense really hit the skids the last month of the season, even more so than the bears if the Saints are a hot team, the Bears are even hotter reguardless of what every [expletive] outside of John Clayton says at the [expletive] sports broadcasting network In your last 3 games, excluding Packers, you barely beat 2 crappy teams and one mediocre team that just barely snuck past the Cowboys because Romo messed up. You beat the 29th ranked Bucs offense by just 3 points and beat the 22nd ranked offense by 5 points. Then you beat the 19th ranked offense by 3 points. If you barely outscored those teams, you really think you are going to do soooo much better against the No.1 ranked offense in the NFL? Yes, our last real loss was to the bad Redskins by 6 points, but we held them to 16 total points, and they are ranked 13th in the league offensively. The Saints were playing for their lives, the Bears were not.
  22. To root for the Bears is to root for Katrina. Or so you'd think.
