  1. Hopeful optimism becomes resigned disappointment...
  2. On the bright side, once we hit June, Soto's gonna be going yard left and right.
  3. I loves me some positional tomfoolery.
  4. Positional tomfoolery in the Pirates/Braves game tonight. Reliever Chris Resop enters the game in the 10th and walks two batters sandwiched around a sac bunt. He then goes out and plays left field after being relieved by Royce Ring, who registers a strikeout. Ring is then taken out, Resop returns to the mound from left field (he was replaced in left by Gregor Blanco) and surrenders the go-ahead run, becoming the first player in 15 years to pitch, move to a position and then pitch again in the same game. I love this stuff.
  5. Oh yeah? Stop overreacting about people overreacting about people overreacting.
  6. Less inability to detect sarcasm/FJM posts, more Kosuke appreciation! http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r71/bcvm22/sigzeon/RallyKosuke.png Meh, you're not missing much. "Deep drive!... right center field!... they've tied it!" The only good line was "a star is born in the teeth of the Lake Michigan wind!" Cubs.com has the video with Pat and Ron's call; just mute that and imagine the aforementioned in Musberger's aging voice.
  7. They taste like chocolatey futility. :|
  8. What a sham the man is.
  9. Quiet you.
  10. It's accurate. The same forearm cramping he gets 2-3 times a year. Apparently for all his talent and money, he still hasn't accumulated enough common sense to drink a damn bottle of water during a start. I don't think he's ever missed a start as a result, though. Fingers crossed.
  11. Because he blew up the game. (See what I did there?)
  12. http://bcvm22.home.comcast.net/~bcvm22/cubs/fu-ku-do-me.mp3 The legend begins.
  13. Losing sucks. Let's not do it again.
  14. Mebbe. http://bcvm22.home.comcast.net/~bcvm22/cubs/fu-ku-do-me.mp3
  15. Not to exempt Theriot, but it isn't as if he failed to get on base and then Sori/Lee/Ramirez ripped a double or went yard following. Spread the blame.
  16. I thought they put the shift on to keep crap like that from happening.
