  1. Well, he IS a Packers fan  But seriously, he's under house arrest. If he isn't granted permission to go to Miami with the team, people shouldn't be in an uproar about it. Really? I think if Tank is held back in Chicago it blows the doors off every news outlet in the city. Who's your backup DT? Idonije? You could do a whole hell of a lot worse than that. Of course the media will make a big deal out of it, but I don't think it would really hinder the outcome of the game. Losing Tank would be a huge loss. With Harris out, Tank is the only DT we have who has a shot to put pressure on the QB. Tank was missed in the 2 games he was out for at the end of the season.
  2. They don't do the crap Bush did. Everybody in the league does some sort of celebration, that's completely different from pointing at your opponent on the way into the end zone and doing the flip. Dance all you want, that's part of the game. Flipping into the end zone is not. Let's be honest, Hester pointed at and taunted the Rams on his 2nd kickoff return that game. I was mad at Bush when it happened, but it sound like he knew he screwed up and apologized. It's water under the bridge after that.
  3. I know it's lame and it's a cliche, but this team really seems to feed off this whole Rodney Dangerfield thing. So national media, keep yapping! Please! Yeah, it's crazy. I hears on ESPN News today that the only reason to play this game is to pass the time until Manning gets his Super Bowl Trophy. A common opinion among the national press is that the Saints "gave" the game to the Bears with the fumbles, with no mention of the fact that every one of those fumbles was forced by the Bears. If I'm Lovie I'm playing the "no respect" card all week. The Bears are the 15-3, #1 seeded team here. I have no problem with the Colts being slight favorites (2-4 points), but the disrespect the Bears are STILL getting nationally is unreal.
  4. Oh we are cooked. Two starters out. You are still awful, you play hard and have had an easy big ten schedule thus far. Plus the big ten sucks besides the two big teams. About how it has been the last 5 years with just two new teams at the top. Alhtough I guess it was three and wiscy remained. Awful? #16 RPI # 8 Pomeroy #15 Sagarin I'll take that kind of awful any day of the week. 14-4. 4 losses to Butler, KY, Duke, and Ohio St. Don't forget IU is now ranked in the AP and ESPN/USA Today polls. Pretty good for an "awful" team. Also, every team IU has lost to is ranked in the ESPN/USA Today poll. HAHA "awful." Oh yeah you guys are pretty much a lock to make the final four. You have done a nice job up to this point, but I still don't think you are all that good. Maybe after I really get to watchyou tomorrow I will feel different. Who said anything about the final four? You said IU is awful. If you really believe that, it is pretty clear you don't know anything about basketball.
  5. I would be stunned and irate if Tank can't go. I don't care if they make him sleep in Miami Dade County Prision while he is there, be better be playing in the Super Bowl.
  6. They were saying on the news last night that Tank was cleared to go. Provided he leaves his guns and marijuana at home of course. Yeah, I heard he was cleared before the Seattle game, and the judge said something like "you are allowed to go, but I don't think you will be going because I am a Packers fan"
  7. I have not had a chance to read this whole thread yet, but has this been discussed... I think playing the Saints was a huge blessing for the Bears. I think the Colts are a little more effective on offense than New Orleans, but they are almost exactly alike. They have two impact running backs, they have great playmakers at WR, they have a O-Line that typically gives the QB time to pass, and a great QB who is coming off of a monster, MVP type season. I think Dungy will stay with the run longer than the Saints did, and the Colts WR's scare me more (mostly because of Dallas Clark), but the similarites are almost uncanny. If the D plays nearly as good in Miami as they did yesterday I think the Bears win. Coun't me in the "unimpressed" camp about the Colts D. I excpect the Bears to be able to run and pass pretty well on them. Early, early, early prediction: Bears 27 Colts 20

  9. Actually, UConn got beat by Marquette in their last game at home, ending a 31-game win streak at home. Still, that's a program defining win. Kelvin Sampson will be in Bloomington for as long as he wants the job. Amazing effort by the boys in red. They got manhandled on the UConn end of the boards, but they hit their free throws. 20-21 from the line, including 6 for 6 down the stretch. UConn was just 17 of 28 from the line, which was the difference. IU did a great job sharing the ball, with 18 assists on 24 baskets. The experienced stars stepped up with White having a monster 1st half and Wilmont doing it in the 2nd. I worry about going back on the road again on Tuesday to face the Illini. U of I hasn't been very good this year, but DJ is gonna be spent having played 38 minutes today and again having to face an athletic front line. I'm worried about the emotion of that game as well. U of I fans don't exactly like IU's program right now, and it will be a really tough enviornment to go in and win. I'd love the win, but I'm not incredibly hopeful. Looking forward, that Wisconsin game at home in a week or two is huge. The only game IU plays them this year at Bloomington-a win there gives us a possible huge tiebreaker advantage while protecting the homecourt. I just got cheap tix to IU-UI on ebay! It will be crazy there, and a tough game, but IU is the better team. If any Illini want to brawl, I'll be the guy in red. Another internet tough guy. Dude, that was obviously a joke. Are you kidding me? Yeah, I am really picking a physical fight with every Illinois fan on a message board.
  10. I hate Joe Buck. Alright, I'm out. I expect to return to a 250 page Super Bowl celebration thread. BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO BEARS, all the way to Miami!!!!!
  11. 1 hour, 15 minutes to go. BEARS 27 Saints 17
  12. It looks like Pau Gasol is available and they are talking with the Bulls. I'd love to have him, but not at the price in this article (Deng and Gordon). I would offer PJ's salary, Tyrus Thomas, Duhon, and an 08 pick for Gasol and Warrick. Hinrich Gordon Deng Gasol Wallace ---- Nocioni Thabo Warrick Sweetney.... http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/44319/20070121/grizzlies_will_try_to_trade_gasol/
  13. We are inside 100 minutes away.
  14. Not much wind, no snow, just freaking cold at Soilder Field according to the latest report on ESPN News.
  15. Also, "the Saints are a great story and unstoppable", "Drew Brees is the second coming", "only shot the Bears have is for bad weather", "Grossman sucks", BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Why would local Chicago TV be that negative? I get thats what we will have to hear once the National coverage starts at 1, but you Chicago people should get some more positive coverage at noon.
  16. 2 hours, 15 minutes left...this game should be at noon.
  17. All-Stars in the outfield are not picked by position. They just vote for 3 outfielders, so it could just as easily be 3 centerfielders.
  18. Did you consider going into the hallway and shorting out one of the electrical outlets with a paperclip? Thats playing with fire man. What if he shorted out the power for the building, then no TV today.
  19. Joe Horn is probably not going to play according to ESPN.
  20. If it starts snowing down there like it is by my house right now, we'll have patriots-Raiders Tuck rule game conditions.
  21. I believe Lou when he told the convention goers this weekend Matt Murton is our everyday left fielder. After hearing that, I'm on board with bringing Floyd in, it's a nice addition to our bench.
  22. Also, why would you want to watch Dee Brown? He's horrible. I'm surprised he hasn't been cut yet. He hasn't been cut because his boy Deron is on fire. It's probably like Jack Haley being Rodman's sidekick.
  23. Just woke up in Milwaukee to what looks like a blizzard outside. It's coming down hard. I assume it is pretty silimiar in Chicago. LETS'S GO BEARS. 1 win from the Super Bowl!
  24. You know Illinois lost today? At home. Again. That makes 4 Big Ten losses for the ILL-INI. yup, thats too bad. i still love dee and deron though. other things i love? DEE AND DERON Thats cool. Dee was great tonight.
