  1. Awesome. World Cup announcement expected this week
  2. Either could happen, but your prediction is based on one year of success compared to five years of mediocrity for the opposite view.
  3. Curry out for playoffs I just hope it's correctable.
  4. How many has Griffin missed? I lost count at 3. He's just not very good.
  5. No Curry, Deng and Noch. About what I expected even before Tyson got the boot.
  6. If O'Neal is back and Curry isn't for the Bulls, I'd agree that the Pacers should be favorites. Good luck.
  7. Cool. Knocking Reggie Miller out of the playoffs one last time would be an excellent cap to a wonderful season. I heard somebody on the radio yesterday talking about the Bulls' postseason chances, and he said he thought the Bulls "had a chance to pull off the upset in the first round". Assuming they are the 4th seed, would they really be the underdogs? I was under the impression that they had about the best record in the league since January 1 or something like that. Edited: mis-read: I think it depends on who they are playing. If the Pacers are the 5 seed then yes it will be considered a mild upset since the Pacers were considered one of the elite teams in the east. The Pacers were considered one of the elite teams in the east before they lost Artest and O'Neal. Yeah, but the Bulls got to the 4 seed in large part to the post presence that Curry provided. If he's not there in the playoffs, a team like Washington might be favored even as a 5 seed. They'd miss Curry's scoring, but Chandler has been a monster lately -- evidenced by their 6-1 record without Eddie.

  9. Nope, they'd have home court over the 5th seed.
  10. With 6.5 games and 4 teams between the Bulls and the Nets with 6 games left, I don't see how the Bulls could play NJ in the first round.
  11. Maddux's history of success is also a wee bit deeper than Carpenter's too.

  13. Please ease off the thread resurrection, Don. There were some auggiedoggie posts in that thread, and nobody should have to re-read those.
  14. Yep, he's no Eddie Robinson.
  15. Or how limiting the sample size to the past five years proves anything.
  16. Playing without Deng and Curry all game and Kirk for the fourth tonight didn't help either.
  17. He'd need to be posted for that to happen. The soonest we could see him in MLB otherwise would be 2007 -- a bit late, IMO. If he doesn't get posted this fall, I don't think you'll see him in the majors.
  18. Correct. When faced with a similiar situation, both the Giants (Hideki Matsui) and the Lions (Kazuo Matsui) elected to hang on to their superstars rather than post them.
  19. I don't think he'll be a free agent until 2006 or 2007. However, there's a decent chance he may get posted next offseason. Kenji will qualify for free agency during the 2005 season, allowing him to join an MLB team by 2006 if he's so inclined.
  20. I hope so, Tim, I hope so.
  21. Great stuff, Mark. Thanks!
