  2. Yeah, that's enough of that.
  3. Yeah, bad timing. I'm going to the Peoria/Kane county game Friday night and was hoping to see Vitters, too. But it looks like Aramis will be playing 3b for Peoria that night, which helps a little.
  4. Chen's signing is also mentioned on East Windup Chronicle by Jackson, a part time scout for the Twins living in Taiwan. http://eastwindupchronicle.com/cubs-sign-chen-pin-chie/ I like the part about him being the big ticket offensively.
  5. One Bears and six glorious Bulls titles.
  6. He'd be a great value at 26. Probably wishful thinking on my part; wouldn't be surprised to see him go higher.
  7. ESPN's Draft Machine is up http://espn.go.com/nba/draft2009/features/draftmachine/ My pedestrian picks: 1. Blake Griffen 2. Hasheem Thabeet 3. Ricky Rubio 4. Jrue Holiday 5. James Harden 6. Tyreke Evans 7. Jordan Hill 8. Stephen Curry 9. DeMar DeRozan 10. Jonny Flynn 11. DeJuan Blair 12. Gerald Henderson 13. Austin Daye 14. Brandon Jennings 15. Jeff Teague 16. Tyler Hansbrough 17. Eric Maynor 18. B.J. Mullens 19. James Johnson 20. Earl Clark 21. Terrence Williams 22. Ty Lawson 23. DaJuan Summers 24. Darren Collison 25. Gani Lawal 26. Chase Budinger 27. Sam Young 28. Nick Calathes 29. Patrick Mills 30. Wayne Ellington
  8. I agree. Low-ceiling, but at that draft spot, you'd know you're getting someone who'll come in and do what you know he can do. There's no mystery with TH. He'll be a serviceable bench player/energy guy. I'd be fine with a high-floor guy like Hansbrough at 16 as well. Maybe energy-wise but Noah is/will be a far superior defender and better rebounder, thanks in part to his athleticism and size. Agreed. Hansbrough is a better offensive player, though. I think the two could end up complementing each other even.
  9. Yeah, I read that part and it's why I included the link. The salaries would have to fit, so the Bulls would be taking a player back besides the pick, and they'd likely be including something besides Kirk in the deal. But I just listed the highlights of the rumor: Kirk for Twolves pick.
  10. I'd be very happy to see the Bulls draft DeRozan if they end up with the number 6 pick.
  11. http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-bulls-confidential/2009/05/hinrich-to-be-traded.html The Bulls could be looking to deal Hinrich this summer. One rumored deal: Kirk to the Twolves for Minnesota's number 6 pick in the draft.
  12. No doubt, especially with that 7-2 wingspan. Too bad.
  13. Fair enough. 1.4 is on the low end of the multipliers I've seen suggested, and OBP has more value at the top of the order in front of the team's sluggers. 50 to 100 could very well be a wash.
  14. Really? I wouldn't. OBP is on a 1.000 point scale; Slg. is on a 4.000 point scale. I'm not sure why that's relevant. They aren't measuring the same thing, so the different denominators are irrelevant. So you'd trade 100 points of OBP for 100 points of Slg.?
  15. Really? I wouldn't. OBP is on a 1.000 point scale; Slg. is on a 4.000 point scale.
  16. NBA refs doing their best to get Lebron into the finals.
  17. Many of us Cubs fans have provided evidence in this thread for why we believe Braun is a subpar defensive player. For instance: Perhaps your own beer goggles are coloring your perception of Braun's defense?
  18. Because $10M is a lot to pay a reserve guard, especially if you're trying to add an impact PF like Bosh or Amare. And who wants an overpaid guard? Bosh and Amare aren't getting traded this offseason. How many more years does Kirk have under his contract? Are you arguing they shouldn't trade Kirk or they can't trade Kirk?

  20. Zambrano earns more money in a week than that guy likely earns in a year. Making a joke about Z's social class is pretty dumb.
  21. Does the Sixers choking one away against the Howard-less Magic last night have anything to do with it? Sorry, SSR has me out for blood.
  22. Did that make up for the six you couldn't enjoy because you picked the wrong team as a kid? Who let that happen to you, anyway?
  23. Of course, especially if Miller fouls Rondo in a similar fashion.
