"have".... not "of"...let's repeat.."have"...not "of" As an employee of WGN and/or the Cubs, Stone should have (not of) never made the details of this confrontation available to the public. I agree that Merker didn't make a great decision in calling the booth to discuss. However, Steve Stone is ultimately the one that made this an issue for his employer.

It was in the context of taking walks. He said that he'd occasionally give the "take" sign, but more often than not, he trusts the hitters to go up there and hit. gotcha...not a bad notion with the appropriate lineup...

The '07 Cubs would still have a payroll at least 60-70 million dollars less than the '06 Yankees. That said...the entities would not be that similar.

Georgia is crazy overrated. TN will beat Georgia this weekend... ...Auburn dominated Washington St. during the first game of the year....i do agree that their other non-conference opponents are patsies.

Ok.....I wouldn't have a problem with him being the "hustle coach", but he really should not be instructing anyone on topics such as strike zone judgment/plate discipling, swinging a bat, fielding, throwing, or baserunning.

I may not be so quick to call the Arkansas-Auburn game a "mismatch"....not after the way Auburn looked against South Carolina.

...why didn't Newton start the season at QB for SC? He's not bad...Auburn would have accrued a tremendous amount of sacks against a QB with less mobility.

I agree. That PI- non call cost LSU greatly though. .quite happy about that call! This is a huge victory for the Auburn Tigers. Auburn's D really stepped up today and exceeded expectations.

LSU at Auburn...The winner has a decent chance of running the table and getting into the SEC Championship game undefeated. I'm sure LSU will win and Auburn's season will be for not...that seems to be how my sports teams roll since IU's last college basketball national championship.

I would very much like to agree with you. However, I'm neither enamored with Brandon Cox nor with Auburn's secondary. I predict they will lose to LSU in week 3. If they do win that game and don't sustain huge injuries, then I believe they have a very good chance of playing in the championship game.
