  1. Where are these picks? I should be very wealthy by now.
  2. No, it's not like trading Berrian for Harrison. Harrison is part of a high powered offense that is likely to score many touchdowns from this point forward in the season. Yes, with McNabb producing again this season, Brown's scoring production is somewhat similar to Holt's. As stated previously, Boldin is more talented than Brown. However, this isn't a NFL trade, this is a fantasy football trade. We have to look at other aspects of the respective teams to forecast future production in games 8-16. While Boldin may accumulate more yards (1 fantasy point for every 20) than Brown in games 8-16, I believe Brown will likely score more touchdowns (6 fantasy points per TD). Is Boldin going to score more TD's than Brown with a rookie quarterback at the helm? McNabb is again looking like McNabb. This is a legitimate trade, IMO. James is a nobody with that o-line in an 8 team league. BTW, I still haven't made a decision.
  3. ...and what does that say about the value of James when he won't be getting many starts over these guys? That Arizona o-line is a joke.
  4. Points aren't accumulated by being "great". Receivers must score touchdowns. I know that Boldin is the better receiver, but there are factors more important than that to consider. How many drives are the Cardinals going to sustain without a running game? I think many of you may be a bit biased after watching the Bears-Cardinals game. That was the best game that Arizona played all season...by quite a margin. McNabb is going to throw more touchdown passes than Leinart from this point forward...that is a given. Will Brown outscore Boldin as he has thus far this season?
  5. Arizona is last in the league in rushing yards and touchdowns. That's not likely to change, IMO. The Edge simply does not possess the value he did when he played for Indy. At this point Kevin Jones, Tatum Bell, Travis Henry, and Ahman Green are all ahead of him on my squad. I'm overloaded with RBs, and I simply do not forsee being able to utilize James this season. So....the trade really is Boldin for Brown. Will Brown score more touchdowns than Boldin from this point forward? That is largely the decision making factor. (1 point for every 20 yards..6 points for each touchdown) BTW, this is an 8 team league...
  6. fortunately, the 1st round is protected. If the same rules apply, then, yes, the Cubs first round pick is protected....but only because the '06 Cubs were so very, very bad.
  7. How much is Brown's production going to decline when Stallworth returns? James is useless with that o-line, so it's basically Brown for Boldin. I have to do it. I would assume that this guy (hurting for a RB) believes that the Edge will get better later this season, but i just don't see it. Thoughts?
  8. clemson is destroying GT...Spiller with a huge game. edit - actually Spiller AND Davis have had huge games...If I'm going to root for a Bowden...it's going to be Tommy.
  9. There's simply no way this is true. There are 3 downright bad teams out of only 8. Cuse, The more I think about this, the angrier I become. You made such a HUGE stink about the SEC throughout this thread and others and finally suggest that the Big East is the top conference? Remind me which games West Virginia or Lousiville or Rutgers or Pitt have played this season that make you believe this.
  10. There's simply no way this is true. There are 3 downright bad teams out of only 8. Yeah...I didn't realize Cuse made this statement. I respectfully disagree with him.
  11. Yes, and it was 13-7 Michigan at halftime. That somewhat contradicts your assertion that Vandy is absolutely horrible. Again...I'm just stating that the SEC is better than other conferences this season when one evaluates the conferences from top to bottom...This is a factor when SEC ADs schedule out of conference games.
  12. I don't deny that are probably a touch overrated, but the SEC is still the best conference in college football currently, IMO...and that's all that I'm asserting. Arkansas may very well be the best team now that they are healthy...they certainly exploited Auburn's weakness at nose tackle/defensive tackle...Josh Thompson, Auburn's NT, seemed to start playing much better during the second half of the Florida game, and I'm hoping that he's grown as a player over the past few weeks. If Arkansas wins the SEC championship, they will absolutely be ranked ahead of the other SEC teams...no matter what the "good ole boys" have to say...lol. BTW, "good ole boys" aren't the only voters per my understanding. I'd be willing to bet that most non-SEC coaches have either Florida or Tennessee or Auburn ahead of Arkansas right now as well. Cuse..something tells me that you don't like the SEC teams non-conference schedule this year...Auburn didn't play a tough non-conference schedule in '04 either, but they were at very least the second best team in the nation that season....I don't think the SEC teams are as bad as you perceive, and I'll be happy to admit that I'm wrong if I'm proven so during the bowl season.
  13. Auburn #2? They lost a game. I was being sarcastic. The SEC is so good they might as well just have the top 2 teams play for he National Championship. it's not that good, but it's the best conference in college football. it's hard to argue otherwise. Why? Cuse, Auburn does not have a national championship team...I can vouch for that...but there are about 5 other SEC teams that are just as good as Auburn. They may not have the best team in the nation, but they are deeper than other conferences. I understand that they don't have strong extra-conference schedules this season. Let's revisit this in late December and early January.
  14. Auburn #2? They lost a game. I was being sarcastic. The SEC is so good they might as well just have the top 2 teams play for he National Championship. it's not that good, but it's the best conference in college football. it's hard to argue otherwise. Cuse disagrees....strongly.
  15. possibly...not sold on that though. I can advise that Auburn's D looked like crap again today...I know that a lot of young players were on the field, but Tulane should not have accumulated as many yards as they did....
  16. wow..Cal and Washington going to OT on a tipped pass with 0 left on the clock..It looks like Rocky Top is about to come back and beat Alabama.
  17. perhaps...let's try again. What type of contract would you be willing to offer Pierre?
  18. This is a terrible post. Fact is he doesn't get on base, and he gets himself thrown out too often when he does. He stunk in 2005 and wasn't good in 2006. You know, all of us could sling around insults. I'm not slinging insults. You made a terrible post. You made completely inaccurate claims. We don't have to resign Pierre, we should only tolerate it if he was a cheap one year deal and they got a lot of other production. Your hatred of stats is your own problem that you have to come to terms with, because stats matter. Pierre is not a good baseball player. Terrible post in your opinion, not all. You should respect the opinions of others, even if you think they're terrible. I think Pierre should be retained, so what? I just fail to see how a rare commodity like a leadoff hitter, that plays excellent defense, led the NL in hits, and had a .350+ OBP after the break is a terrible player. Not to mention that the pitching we originally gave up to acquire him would wasted. He also presents about a 0% chance of injury over the year. "leadoff hitter"..please define.."great defense"..please define.

  20. Pie likely would have joined the big club at the end of this past season if Hendry intended for him to compete for the CF job next spring...just my opinion.
  21. UM...plz post your picks for this week, so that I may bet on the opposite. This strategy could really work. Edit - I'm serious...this isn't meant as a knock on you. This could be valuable. Some people are really good at incorrectly picking against the spread.
  22. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=lukas/061018&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos1 Did anyone read this Page 2 article?
  23. #! Ryno as manager would probably sell more tickets..so that argument doesn't hold water, IMO. #2 if Ryno truly wants to manage, then he'll pay his dues and get experience in the minor leagues.
  24. A-rod. I'm pretty sure it's all been speculation at this point (particularly, the inclusion of Hill), but it does make some sense, so it's worth considering. Wouldn't the Yankees likely be able to get a better package for ARod from another team? I'm going to go out on a limb and state that Hill and spare parts wont' do it. Hill simply is not a proven top of the rotation SP, and that is what the Yankees will likely demand, IMO. To address the topic presented in this thread, the Cubs would probably pull the trigger on a Hill centered trade for Arod if this were offerred....and then sign 2 FA SPs
  25. This puzzles me as well. Why not obtain the opinions of those that we deem important two months ago rather than now? I infer this to mean that the steps they've taken over the last couple of months have failed, and thus they sent him to Andrews for evaluation recently....zero progress since being placed on the DL.
