BK actually did a study on this and found that small ball teams don't really score runs more consistently than long ball teams. He just found that they tend to score fewer runs. geech past 1000! I know, it's crazy. I've clearly let myself be drawn into posting all too often lately.

Whatever. McCoy just reported it as a rumor, he didn't stake his reputation on it being an actual offer. That's hardly news.

ZZ, the initial report is that Hendry was asked about the rumor and replied that it was too much for Dunn, not elaborating on that at all. I don't think McCoy ever claimed to know for sure an offer was made. That's very tenuous to directly contradict Bruce Miles, who's a far, far cry from a Sullivan.

I'm still not even sure there's a trigger to pull on this one. Bruce didn't just say that Hendry wouldn't do Hill straight-up for Dunn, he said that there hadn't even been an offer made.

His arm fell off. He's throwing a side session with the left arm next week. -
Pitchers have off days. I don't think he forgot how to pitch since that 4-hitter he threw. It's possible he's still in some kind of extended slump, but I believe his problems are at least exacerbated by pitching from the pen.

I believe that part of Rusch's struggles are due to being used in the pen. He seems to do much better as a starter than as a reliever.
