I'll be seeing Geddy and Rush at Red Rocks tomorrow. That's why I'm not in Houston. Little time for myself _ and Rush. red rocks is awesome. enjoy, but find something out for us while you're at it. I'll find out Rush rocks in person for something like my 11th time since 1976. Got another show lined up in Milwaukee. you're one of those rush guys, eh? very talented band, just not my cup of tea. I understand. I've been hooked since seeing them at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago in 1976. So yeah, I'm one of those Rush guys. :jocolor: i hear that they just come out and start playing, which is nice. too many bands fall in love with talking to the crowd. i know a few people who are going to the show in milwaukee, all old farts and Yes fans. No backup band, either. Just three hours of Rush.

Because Dopirak is on the 40-man, the Cubs had to DFA him just as they would anybody else. They've got 10 days to trade him. Failing that, if he clears waivers, they can outright him to the minors, taking him off the 40-man. Miller was on the 60-day DL and not on the 40-man.
And let's all remember one thing that trumps all: Major League Baseball has a unique exemption from antitrust laws in all areas except in their relationship with the players union. That means they can pretty much do whatever they want in approving or disapproving prospective owners.

well so much for pushing us over the top, I guess Hendry would rather settle for being right around .500 and hopeing to make the playoffs instead of making a move to push us over the top. Team isn't exactly hovering around .500 anymore... check the standings you are wrong. They are yet to reach 10 over, all it takes is a 3-4 game losing streak and they are right back down there. Add a 4 or 5 game winning streak and they have the best record in the NL. Gotta look at it both ways... Having the best record in the NL, is kind of like having the best tasting poop. Id rather push us to being a top team in the Majors, but if just hopeing to make the playoffs is ok with you then thats fine. I have a little higher standards, and its right there for the taking, but instead Hendry would rather sit back and "hope". What regular-season record won the World Series last year? And it still takes two teams to make a deal. The asking prices have been ridiculous, and the Cubs don't have to give up some of those players to get a little better here or there. Bruce, what was your overall feeling of what Hendry would do on July 30, 2004? Was it anything at all comparable to what is going on this year in the case that we're only rumored to get spare parts instead of being involved in a blockbuster deal? Of course, we got Nomar the day later, but I just want to know if you think something could happen like that this year with someone like Griffey. I continue to keep the false hope alive that we can make some sort of a big splash... It looked like they were going to get Cabrera to play short that day. I see nothing of a Nomar-type trade (read Griffey) happening tomorrow.

Come on Bruce, you know its more fun to just rip people without actual knowledge and reason. by the way were you staying at the Marriott in Covington for the Cincy series? I thought I saw you. I was staying there as well.
