  1. i think i'll vote for the user whose posts actually contain baseball content.
  2. i'm not sure if anyone else has posted this, but i was in atlanta for the friday and saturday games. they showed an injury report for both teams on turner field's GIGANTIC video board. each player was listed with his accompanying injury. novoa's listed injury was "head". it was hilarious. Roberto Novoa - Head
  3. Considering his youth and ungodly IsoD, I'd say no. that 38.7 K% certainly isn't helping things. that's an ungodly K rate.
  4. Well, Barrett was on top of him wasn't he? I'm sure that MB was punching him in the ribs the entire time. LOL, I hope so. Gearld Perry grabbed him by the neck and pulled him down. Another look shows that Peavy was pulled off the ground with redness to the side of his face and a few seconds later, and a little farther away, Jacque is pulled up and he was looking a little wobbly too. Who knows what went on in that pile. i'm thinking peavy got punched several times by several people. someone wearing one of the blue windbreaker things is on top of the pile punching as well (it's right after piniella trips).
  5. i'll reiterate: sweet pictures.
  6. haha, the majority of voters aren't in the tournament in the first place.
  7. ah, he's a ND fan. that explains it.
  8. abuck can be mean, but that's his way, damnit. he's not mean, he's truthful and honest! speaking of a pile of crap. so all wood and prior were was hype and hope, huh? those two did more for this organization "on the field" than hill, theriot, pie, fontenot, marshall and guzman added together times 10. two good weeks out of pie is "producing for the cubs on the field," yet wood's 165 innings in 1998, 170 innings in 2001, 200+ innings in 2002, 200+ dominant innings in 2003, his postseason performance in 2003, and 140 innings of 122 era+ in 2004 were all hype and hope? and fontenot's 20 good ab's is "producing for the cubs on the field," but prior's 120 dominant innings at age 21, one of the greatest seasons ever by a cub pitcher in 2003, and two above average injury shortened seasons in 2004 and 2005 were all hype and hope? what a stupid, stupid post. have a little perspective. it's crap like this that makes me hate a lot of my fellow cub fans. Like I said, he made a good point. But it wasn't in the kindest of ways. boo hoo. abuck > 95% of the posters on nsbb
  9. i gained about 5 votes from yesterday at this time to rawaction's 15, haha. he's busting it wide open now.
  10. remember: i was the creator of the "jose macias DFA" thread, AND the thread that inspired this entire tournament! i guess i should have posted about 2,000 times before the tournament started so i could have drawn an easier opponent.
  11. 2004-2006: 7.16 BB%, 21.43 K% 2007, Iowa: 9.7 BB%, 12.4 K% 2007, MLB: 4.7 BB%, 17.6 K% (he's at 8.6 BB% and 14.3 K% since the callup) hopefully, he keeps trending towards the BB% he has in Iowa this year. it's not great, but if he keeps hovering around a .200 IsoP, and continues to play great defense, i'll gladly take it.
  12. i'm glad i made this thread that deserves some type of play-in thumping, doesn't it?

  14. I LOVE HIM!
  15. you really don't try to change the stereotype that all southerners and rednecks are racists, do you?
  16. the last sentence of that post is probably the worst thing i've ever read on NSBB.
  17. When's the last time you saw a fielder making a play on a ball when a runner passes him and yells to confuse him ? T-Ball maybe ? I saw my fair share of trickery in the college game. somehow, i knew you were going to say that
  18. career OPS+ Berkman: 147 Lee: 124 career EqA Berkman: .321 Lee: .294 Berkman has been much more consistent than Lee has been.
  19. when Lee's average drops to the .290 range, his slugging percentage will be around .510 based on his career IsoP. he's obviously not hitting for power like he did earlier in his career, so i would expect his slugging percentage to drop to the .470 range, making Lee a .290/.360/.470 player.
  20. i hope you're not trying to defend wade miller.
  21. does this mean you're done with nsbb, too?
  22. i'm glad that you finally figured it out.
  23. A large part of his walk rate ballooning is the fact that nobody else is behind him. Vlad has been walked 12 times intentionally already, and a few of his other fifteen walks were probably the unintentional intentional walk. ah, i should have guessed that. i just remembered glancing at his stats on yahoo and noticing his walk total.
  24. i'm pretty sure Keener is in the minority regarding his anti-IMB sentiments.
