    Apologies for the drama; unavoidable issue. Now that the dogs have been called off, I guess my problem is giving up our two best picthing prospects on top of Williams and Cedeno. I'd hope we are getting back Gibbons and a young pitcher in addition to Tejada if this is the deal.

    BUMP Bruce Levine on ESPN Radio says that the Tejada talk is very real and that the Cubs are ready to go. I won't mention, however, what he says the Cubs might be willing to give up... :ohnoes:

    I don't think AAA is a bad place for him; AA is the true "prospct level", right? AAA has some prospects, some attempts at revival (I think).

    This was brought up on "Mike and Mike" (ESPN Radio) last week, and I thought it was interesting (so much so that I waited over a week to post the topic): Would you rather have: Clemens for 1 yr at $20 mill. OR Burnett for the contract he got from Tor. (5 yrs and $55 mill.) My answer: Clemens.

I get the feeling that Hendry is pulling a Kramer (the one where he wants to hear gossip that jerry has "in the vault"): "Oh c'mon, please, please tell me!!!!"

    Yeah, I worry less about Bradley getting injured than I do about him imploding. If that were not an issue, I'd say that Jim should zero in.

    Its an interesting idea, but I'd want them to pick up half the contract and would not give up much more than CPatt and Williams. Probably not worth the risk.

    I guess its all about perspective; I suspect that JH views Pierre as a major upgrade in CF. I agree that he is an upgrade, but not a major one.

    I guess I could live with him - http://www.baseball-reference.com/i/ibanera01.shtml - but its definitely a short-term fix; he'll be 34 this year. We need an impact bat, Jim!!!

    Plenty of chance. You definitely do not know that the Cubs will keep Hendry if next season is another disappointment. Zero chance. How about some support for that position? JH and Dusty are in their walk years, no? JH has hitched his wagon to Dusty's, and win or lose, the Dust Man is a very likely to be a goner after this year. Assuming they lose (and certainly the odds lean in that direction), its perfectly reasonabel to think that Jim will be an advance scout for the Marlins next year.
