  1. I'll take Chiefs and the over. I think a final score in the 27-20 range is a pretty realistic. SF will try to keep the game low scoring by running the ball 40 times. I'm not sure that will be a winning formula but it will limit KCs chances. I think KC will score but they aren't going to put up 30+ against SF's defense. SF's offense looked good against the Packers but they were a mirage. I don't see them putting 30+ against KC. I like the under.
  2. Gritty is not afraid to break your nose for a laugh.
  3. Long overdue for Covert. I think you could make a case for Jay Hilgenberg too (if he isn't already in).
  4. It's great that all these pictures are in black and white
  5. Packers vs Chiefs would be a rematch of super bowl I. I don't want to see the Packers win but I'd bet everybody that gets paid to write about this game hopes this happens. Evidently, during half time of Super Bowl I, they had 2 guys flying around on jet packs. It would be cool to see footage of that dredged up during the 9 hour pre game show.
  6. More of a scolding than a lecture.
  7. I just got back from London. The weather being cold enough, I thought I'd see scarves and hats more prominently. I saw one Spurs fan and a couple Man City but I saw a lot more Arsenal and Man U hats/ scarves than anything else. I guess that maybe speaks more to cultural differences with regards to sports. It was cool riding the Tube and seeing the stops for all of the London teams. I would have loved to go to a match but we were only there 3 days and none of my family care about sports.
  8. He'd be walking away from a lot of money. Not saying it's impossible but he doesn't have to.
  9. I'm sure the organization that signed Hossa to what turned out to be an illegal contract and then managed to wash away the last few years of that deal will be given the benefit of doubt. The "illegal contract" part of it is the huge difference. Hossa is only making around $2 million in the final years of his contract which made it a perfect deal for a team trying to reach the cap floor without actually paying the money in salary. Seabrook's contract is under the latest CBA and his cap hit is basically the same as his salary.
  10. I only easy out for the Hawks on Seabrook's contract is for him to get Prongered somehow where he doesn't retire, keeps getting paid but doesn't count against the salary cap.
  11. All of these are wrong. The place to put the pit would be short right field so that when teams shift the fielder that gets shifted there has to either start out in the pit or play in front of or in back of the pit. The only other possibility would be to replace the warning track with a pit. It could even be a moat.
  12. Ricketts was allowed to buy the team as long as he was willing to participate in their newest version of collusion, and he was willing. So he may not have much pull but that doesn't mean he has any desire to run afoul of the party line, anyway. Wait, are we trading Bryant to some non-MLB entity? Is there an agreement to have no one offer him a contract in two years when his team control is up? Trading him now so that they don't have to look cheap for not paying him in 2 years. Also some nonsense about how they tried really hard to get him to sign an extension but they couldn't so they had to try to make the team better by trading their best player.
  13. Anyone here play darts at the Illini Inn?
  14. I was thinking the same thing when I turned it off last night with the US having lost 1 and losing the other 4. I wake up this morning and find that they went 3-0-1 which puts them right back in. The International team always does best in the foresomes. The US should do really well in the individual matches. It seems to me they weathered the storm, they are getting used to the golf course and have adjusted to being on the other side of the world.
  15. With deHaan hurt and out for a while it's time to start actively tanking. As a result, Colliton's job is safe for the rest of the season. He's the perfect coach for tanking since he doesn't have to do anything differently in order to lose games.
  16. What's the white flour for?
  17. So he can make enough money to pay child support?
  18. I want that t shirt now.
  19. I expect 3-1 because that would mean still missing the playoffs but also getting a worse draft pick.
  20. Colliton needs to go. There are plenty of people that they could bring in on an interim basis. They could just fire Colliton's entire staff en mass instead of making it about Marc Crawford's history of abuse.
  21. I wish it wasn't in the middle of the week for the ones in Baltimore. O's tickets were pretty much free last year. They may still have hope in April.
  22. Now that I've bought a replacement, I'm going to find out that I put it in my playing partner's bag but he hasn't noticed because he doesn't play much. He's a friend of a friend so I can't ask him directly. The replacement came but it was the wrong club. It was a 5 iron but some sort of hybrid iron that looked terrible and felt equally bad. I didn't bother sending it back since it was only $20. But then my 5 iron turned up in the pro shop. Moral of the story: count your clubs before you leave the golf course or range.
  23. Neither did Seabrook but it's only human nature to think that past performance should count for something. In Crawford's case, he's been better recently after a rough start. But in the case of Crawford in particular, goalies sharing time is pretty much the norm, and Crawford has missed a ton of time over the past few seasons. He could not have possibly thought he was going to start in most games, or that Colliton is screwing him over. Now, if he's upset because they've abandoned the concept of defense preventing goals, that's another thing. I think they're paying Lehner ~ $5 million to split time with him. I bet if asked, he would rather they had used that money on a better defenseman instead. Objectively, he should understand. Hopefully, he'd be agreeable to a trade. From his perspective, The Hawks have already brought in his replacement and no athlete likes seeing that.
  24. Crawford doesn't have much of a leg to stand on if that's his complaint. Neither did Seabrook but it's only human nature to think that past performance should count for something. In Crawford's case, he's been better recently after a rough start.
