Guzman Call-up If Rusch or Williams screw up this weekend?

It looks as if Wood will be the first one back, who will he replace? Will they put Williams back in the pen and send Aardsma down? Or will Marshall get sent down? What about when Prior and Miller come off the DL? Will the starting rotation eventually be Z, Maddux, Wood, Prior, Miller? Then what do you do with all of these pitchers? What I mean is, by June (hopefully) what will the Cubs pitching staff look like? -

Whew, I got my Extra Innings ordered today and got them to still knock off the $20. I told them that it was supposed to be automatically charged to me since I had it last year. Apparently they don't do that here because they don't know if they will have it year in and year out. -
I hope he makes it til the end of the season for selfish reasons. I got him for a song in my fantasy draft/auction. Other than that I could care less, the guy is an egotistical jerk. But I do think he is taking the brunt of things because of his attitude, I don't think he should be standing out there alone. McGwire and for sure Palmeiro, among others should be getting just as much scrutiny.

I think it was mainly over the fact of what he was getting paid. I think most believed he was a good #4 or #5 starter, just not at 9 million a year or whatever it is.

Murton's been too anxious lately If Murton was sitting dead red on a fastball down the heart of the plate and that is what Milton threw, then I have no problem with him being aggressive. It just didn't work out this time.

Maddux will go in with a Braves cap. 3 Cy Young awards and was an integral part of a team that won 10 straight division titles while he was there. Team success plays a factor.

For those who have mentioned starting Barrett at 3rd, who would be your back up catcher then? If Blanco got hurt, I suppose you could move Barrett behind the plate and put someone else at third. Too bad the Gremlin isn't around as the emergency catcher.lol

If Maddux has a fantastic year and still wants to pitch I would consider bringing him back on a 1 year contract with an option for a second (with a million dollar buyout) or something like that.

So a typical ARAM year eh? The good news is this year we are deep enough to win without him for stretches at a time. Huh? Neifi's in place of Aram, that should tell you all you need to know. Mabry will get some of those starts when a right hander is on the mound. Neifi is playing because of a lefty being on the mound.

No faith in Ohman eh? I do but he's coming off a bad game and I'd rather have a good frame of mind going after the lefties in case it is a tight game tommorrow. I don't understand why Baker went to him so early instead of letting Williams be the first guy in. Williams? or Williamson? Williams. I thougt Williams would be the long relief guy. They were saving him for when the game was definitely out of hand. Hadn't he just pitched a few innings the day before? I'm not sure, just asking

How many of those can you get for Barrett "straight up"? You think Barrett is bad behind the plate and you would trade for an overrated guy in Javy Lopez who has clearly been on the downside of his career for the last couple of years and was never a good defensive catcher anyway?

It's actually the opposite. San Diego is one-hitting the Marlins. Nolasco just came into the game for Florida and has pitched just 1/3 of an inning so far. Thanks I just glanced at a scoreboard. Today feels like a monday for me

Looks like ARAM arse still hurts. Well this lineup does have a ton of speed. Let's hope they get on base to use it. and if the wind is blowing out even the little guys will have a chance to get it out today.

Show me all the numbers you want, I think Willis would be too much of a risk for what it will cost to get him in players and how much it will cost in terms of a contract to keep him. -
It's not to difficult to "stick" with a guy that is batting over .500. I still think Dusty is an idiot. Batting Neifi second in the lineup, the day he sat Walker is unforgiveable, even if he did have 3 hits. Just give him a little time.

The only thing that worries me is if the pen gets overused early in the season it could mean trouble later on. Good thing there have been plenty of off days early in the season because the starters need to be going a little further in the games.
