  1. LOL, Curse of the Cowbell it is. Remember this day 75 years from now. The Cardinals will not win a World Series in their new stadium.
  2. :Deep Booming Voice: I hereby curse your new stadium (ala the old man with the billy goat at Wrigley). The Cardinals will never win in their new stadium. :/Deep Booming Voice:  Now you'll have to wait until they rip down this new stadium and build a completely brand new one from scratch. Although the foul pole in current Busch showing where the new foul pole will be is a nice touch.
  3. I miss him already...
  4. I don't know why, but I found that to be a lot funnier than it really is.
  5. The Cardinals would still make the playoffs without Pujols... period. Yeah, he's a huge offensive threat, but so are Edmonds, Rolen (when healthy), Walker, etc. They have the firepower up and down their line up. Plus now they have the pitching to go with it. The White Sox are last in the AL in hits (at least as of last week). They are winning by scraping through tough games to come out on top. That's what it takes to win, but eventually, talent has to take over. And that's where the Cardinals would slaughter them.
  6. Seems that most people around here like the classic look more than the modern look. (Although I don't know why, but I really like the Astros red unis.) I have one more to add to the list of ugly uniforms... the Orioles grey uniforms. They just look silly.
  7.  Wow, lets hope he pitches against the Cubs at Wrigley then. A 1:20 start could be just what we need to rough him up.
  8. AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!! The blue unis belong in the trash, IMO. I really like the home pinstripes - classic and a good look too. Eh, it's called Cubbie Blue for a reason. So I believe they should have at least one uni that is Cubbie Blue. Just my opinion though. I love the pinstripes. And I really love that they took the names off the home jerseys this year. Much more classic look to them.
  9. I think Hendry has made some solid trade deadline moves, and some good offseason moves as well. But this Dubois trade makes me kind of sad. He was one of my favorite players, even though he was struggling. We didn't get anyone that's going to have a real solid impact on the big league club this year (just my opinion). I wish Jason the best of luck, and hope he turns out to be a great major leaguer. I might have to buy an Indians jersey now (never thought those words would come out of me... ever). I think Gerut might just be filler for another trade Hendry is working on. He said he won't get anyone unless they can help next year as well as this year, and I don't think platooning Holly and Gerut is the answer to our LF problems at all. Murton has been alright, but he can be upgraded for the rest of this season IMO. I believe a bigger move is on the horizon. How big? Well, that depends on how close we are to being in playoff contention.
  10. I'm actually a fan of the Cubs blue uni's (I know, blasphemy) Some of my favorites: Cubs blues Cubs pinstripes Red Sox Dodgers Astros reds Cardinals (whites only - and they have to be wearing the red hats. none of this blue hat crap)
  11. I was waiting for someone to mention that. I would say Zambrano belongs in here, but I thought this year was going to be his breakout year. After watching him last year, I must admit, I had him penciled in for 20 wins this year. While it's technically still possible, it's just not going to happen. If I were to add one more guy to this list, it'd probably be Mark Beurhle or Mark Mulder. I really don't like Beurhle, but his numbers don't lie, and I think he has a great future ahead of him... if he stops accusing hall of fame pitchers of cheating that is. Mulder, when healthy, is one of the best pitchers in the game. He hasn't had the year that was expected of him this year, but don't be surprised if he puts up a late charge in the second half.
  12. Yeah, that one got me too. I actually thought the quiz was wrong until I looked at the date again. Then I felt like an idiot.
  13. I'd take Prior over Carp, even though Carpenter has finally come into his own in the majors. If he can stay healthy, he'll be pretty good for a few years at least. Peavy seems to have a HUGE upside. He keeps his ERA low, and his K's are higher than expected. I like him better than Santana. If I were to build a pitching staff around one guy out of that group, it'd probably be Jake Peavy. Prior has a slight advantage over the field to take second. I say that only because I've seen him pitch more, and I know how incredible he can be well he's on. Santana is my third choice, Carp 4th. I can't believe I'm putting Harden all the way down on the bottom, but the four ahead of him are simply amazing.
  14. What about the old Braves uniforms that were sky blue? Those were just plain hideous. Present uniforms? I have to go with the Diamondbacks. Whoever designed those is laughing at everyone for wearing them.
  15. I got an 8/10. But I must admit, I had to guess on a few of them.
  16. Ten run lead, I would assume he's just resting him. Kerry pitched well, and threw 75 today, so that's enough. At least that's what I'm hoping, I'm just watching the gamecast.
  17. Ya know, I really like this team more when they play this way...
  18. Bases loaded... how awesome would it be if.... nevermind. :-$
  19. Yep, and he's buying the team in the 8th.
  20. I'd like to see Kerry do what Prior did yesterday... 8 solid innings. Then get a young guy in there to seal the deal, and chalk another one up in the standings. We'll see how the next inning goes though.
  21. I have a problem with Edmonds doing it, but that's just because he's my sworn enemy.
  22. Who cares? Nothing wrong with showing some personality at the plate. Lee does sort of a half hop, Burnitz tends to stand there for a second during his follow through, ARam flips his bat. No big deal, at all. Oh, I don't mind it at all. If you KNOW it's gone, I don't care if you do cartwheels to first base. But ARam has been catching heat for the bat flipping lately, so I was curious if he was still doing it. I know B&B were complaining about it along with him not running out a flyball. That's funny, too, because they make fun of football fans who say things like "act like you've been there before" after touchdowns. Being a soccer fan, I enjoy personality and passion, and if a player crosses the line, the opposing pitcher can always throw one inside.... Agreed. The bat flip is not that bad. If it annoys the pitcher so much, next time he shouldn't throw one over the heart of the plate.
