  1. Is it just me, or is Aramis getting hit by a lot of pitches lately?
  2. Why am I not surprised? I'd have figured it'd be Alou.
  3. Timely hitting. They get hits when guys are 3rd base. The Cubs either strike out, or hit into a double play.
  4. Dusty doesn't see the future. He only sees what's happening right now. He doesn't realize that Williams is struggling right now because he hasn't given up any more runs. Once he does, THEN Dusty will notice that he's struggling
  5. Just got here (network problems), how are we looking? I see we're down 1-0, but that can't tell the story.
  6. Preferably with the Cubs scoring all the runs. I like the lineup today though.
  7. I think ARod can get 756, but I think Pujols will end up with even more than ARod.
  8. And there I've gone and posted in a thread I swore I was done with. Wow, I'm weak willed.
  9. Actually, Dusty is the manager, not Corey. He could've said no if he wanted to. He should've known not to let a guy who was struggling hit in one of the most crucial on base spots in the line up. I understand his player's manager philosophy, but this is the same thing that happened with Sammy's refusal to move down last year. At some point, Dusty has to put on his manager's hat, and make a decision that's going to benefit the team, not just keep one player happy.
  10. Great article Yep, that sounds like Deion to me. Now that's poetry...
  11. Yeah, I saw the Sportscentury on Fisk, and they talked about it there. Fisk is still mad about it to this day.
  12. I don't want to start bashing or anything, cause I'm sure this thread is goign to get enough of that very shortly, but I will say this: With the talent this team had last season, a monkey in a cowboy suit could've gotten them to the playoffs. He let the team implode when a more stern manager would've stepped in and righted the ship. It seemed to me that Dusty was more concerned with player happiness, and the feelings of his guys. He should've been more concerned with winning IMO. Just my two cents, and I'll leave it at that.
  13. Does anyone remember a few years ago when Carlton Fisk got up in Deion Sanders' face for not running out a grounder. It seriously pissed Fisk off. I believe he said something like, "Have some respect for the game that made you rich. Play it the way it's supposed to be played." Of course Deion didn't think he did anything wrong.
  14. Chewing them out would be nice, but for some of these guys, I don't think it'd work. I propose that we instate a small fine for not running it out. Nothing major, maybe only like 100 dollars or something. If these guys can be fined for being late for team meeting's, practices, and buses, they can damn sure be fined for being late to first base. That's just the way I'd do it if I was in charge. Of course, if I were in charge, things would be different... much different.
  15. I think we're going to have to get used to it. He's earned that much respect this year.
  16. If Murton fails here, it'll jsut give Dusty another excuse not to play him tomorrow.
  17. Boston can have him. They've already won their World Series. Baker can't screw that up for them anymore.
  18. I think I'm going to puke. Dusty has done enough to damage this team. The entire city of San Francisco was laughing at us when we got him... now I see why. Oh, hey, what do ya know? They're laughing at us again...
  19. I sense a lot of anger in the game threads today... must be a full moon.
  20. That seems to be the mantra around here. This is getting ridiculous. Murton is probably giggling to himself because Dusty is starting to look stupid.
  21. Anyone else think Aramis might be able to challenge for the MVP at the end of this season? If his hot streak continues, he'll be right in it. He's already in it in HR and RBI's. His average is up to .312. While it may not be .350, he can still get it up a little higher.
  22. I swear, a monkey must be hitting the buttons for the Gamecast today. It still says Macias is up.
  23. Gamecast is messed up, but I can still tell you're lying. :^o
  24. He can't. He can't play any of the other positions Dusty uses him at either. He's the most versatile player on the team. He sucks at seven different positions. That just made me laugh out loud at work... and now everyone is looking at me funny. Thanks. =D>
