  1. What about when he threw to third base in Philly and allowed the winning run to score on the play?
  2. Hendry did okay getting D-Lee and A-Ram for garbage. So he got lucky with those (and Nomar at the time), but weigh his good trades/signings against his bad ones. See which way your scale tips. So he got lucky with the guys that are the cornerstone of the team? Right. This thread doesn't need to become Hendry Sox Redux 998,776,432. Cubs fans have no way to look at this objectively. The Pirates were dumping. We just gave them the biggest pile of crap. Lee we got lucky on. I have no clue how he pulled that off. I will admit that he did a good job on the Nomar deal. But compare Lee and Aram against Gerut, Lawton, Jones, Izturis, Neifi, Macias, Bynum, Dusty, etc. Overall has he made more good moves or bad ones?
  3. It's a trade made by Jim Hendry. Odds are that he f-ed it up somehow.

  5. You're about the sixth person to make the complaint, but not one person has stated why its a bad deal with any amount of reason. You want reason? Here is reason. Barrett, like him or not, was the best catcher in our system. Our best option is now Bowen (assuming he's coming our way) and that's sad. EPatt is a top prospect in our system. That goes without saying. So, if the rumors are true, we traded our top catcher (and not a bad one overall) and a top 5 prospect in our system for a good reliever and a backup catcher. A reliever that will maybe pitch 4-5 innings per week as opposed to a catcher who would play in 4-5 games per week, and a prospect that could have played second base for the next ten years. Need more exlplination now, or are you good?
  6. Is it confirmed we traded EPatt or just a strong rumor? If it's Barrett and EPatt for Linebrink and that other schumck, Cub fans should storm Tribune Tower with pitchforks and torches. Hendry is a flippin' moron if he pulled the trigger on that deal. Yes, Barrett wasn't that great defensively, but is there some sort of formula to determine how many runs he gave up over average weighed against how many runs he created over (or below) average? He was our best defensive catcher, and we're going to be hurting there for quite a while. If we got Linebrink that's great as we needed another bullpen arm or four, but I've never been a fan of creating one hole to fill another.
  7. The Yankees are like the cockroaches of baseball. They just won't die.
  8. I loved Steve . . . . . hated Joe "shaveless" Carter. . . . . didn't brennaman work for the cubs? i seem to remember that, though i may be wrong. i REALLY don't like him. I liked him, too. The only Cubs announcers I really didn't care for were Lewin and Carter.
  9. Only one of which would be justified. Milo was a mean spirited jerk. Stone was just villified by the orginization because they were too gutless to lay the blame on their own lousy players.
  10. Who is he? He was one of the Cubs TV guys for the season or two before Chip came. Harry hated him.
  11. It probably wouldn't be a matter of getting someone we want. We'd probably get a mid-level prospect or two.
  12. What was our win prob before it all went to hell in Game 6?
  13. Hrmmmm..... Maybe we could... Nah, not even opening up that can of worms again.
  14. A vote for PriorPower is a vote against proper capitalization and punctuation. My opponent does not care about your child's education!!
  15. One I'm suprised hasn't been mentioned yet is Rickey Henderson's steals record. The stolen base is nowhere near as much of a part of the game as it was in the 70's and 80's. Players just don't run that much anymore, so someone even approaching his single season or career record in today's game is just unfathomable.
  16. I also accused him of being a furry. I know about the convention you attended, PriorPower, if that IS your real name. I have the pictures. Withdraw from the tournament and I'll mail you the negatives. And remember, NSBB'ers, a vote for PriorPower is a vote for Richard Simmons. I'm serious about that. You don't want to test me.
  17. Of course you'd say that.....STALIN!!
  18. Ive watched every episode of "24" since the very beginning. Vote for me and let the Jack Bauer jokes commence!
  19. I would be happy to relieve them of either Hawpe or Holliday.
  20. Ok, time for a new strategy: For my entire NSBB existence, this site has been Richard Simmons free. Ask yourselves: Is voting against me worth an influx of Richard Simmons pictures? If so, vote for PriorPower. But if you do not want Richard Simmons references, avatars and sig pics I would suggest voting for me if you haven't already. If you think I'm bluffing, just try me. I dare you. Also, I have proof that PriorPower is a communist, a furry, and a Cardinals fan.
  21. Nor would I. It would be very fitting. I just hope it isn't a game decider. If he hits it when they're way up or way down, I'll be pulling for him. I guess I wouldn't even be too mad if it was the deciding blow in the game.
  22. It doesn't mean anything in particular. The "316" is because I was a fan of Stone Cold Steve Austin during the 1990's (Austin 3:16) and wttn is an abbreviation of my hometown. But "PriorPower"? Isn't that an oxymoron? Also, you may be suprised to learn certain things about my opponent. For example: You know that guy who cut you off in traffic on your way to work, and then had the audacity to flip YOU off? That was PriorPower. The jerk whose cellphone goes off right at the good part of a movie? Priorpower. That guy at the grocery store who pays for $60 worth of groceries with a bag full of change? PriorPower. Second gunman on the grassy knoll? PriorPower. The person who blew up Vince McMahon's limo? PriorPower. Judas Iscariot? PriorPower. PriorPower planted Steve Bartman at Game Six. Priorpower is responsible for global warming. Do you really want to vote for him now?
  23. 0 world series titles. That means nothing.
  24. Jealousy from the last decade should not figure into your voting. ;)
