  1. Yes, we're in first place, but we've been hanging around for a while now. We have had probably half a dozen opportunities to put some real space between us and the Brewers, and every single time we haven't capitalized. Good teams take advantage of those opportunities and win those games. I see this like it was around this time in 2004. We can't beat the teams we need to beat and win the games we need to win.
  2. Care to bet a month of premium on that?
  3. This really sucks. If (and that's a BIG if) the Cubs win this division, it won't be because they were the best team, it'll be because they were the team that sucked the least.
  4. They may be in first place, but they're still the same old Cubs.
  5. and if we had a real right fielder we might not have allowed any runs. or a pitcher who could get the opposing pitcher out NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING in baseball angers me more than walking the pitcher. If he gets a hit, fine, at least you pitched to him. But god damn, at least throw strikes and don't freaking nibble. So you aren't mad now. I'm peeved, but at least he pitched to him this time.
  6. dusty baker ruining mark prior and (to some extent) kerry wood makes me more angry I should clarify. Nothing in a game situation makes me more angry than walking the pitcher.
  7. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...... Z burned by the pitcher AGAIN. This is comical. So comical, in fact, that I think I'll go vomit.

  9. I know I'm late on this, but I don't care.... Walking the pitcher should carry an automatic $5,000 fine, no matter the game situation or pitcher.
  10. That rule needs to change, and fast.
  11. Selling steroids to nuns was bad enough, but selling the mustard gas to Saddam takes the cake. Fry the bastard!
  12. For all intents and purposes, it's the modern-day record. The last time 30 runs were scored in a game was in June of 1897 when the Chicago Colts (now our beloved Cubs) beat some team 36-7.
  13. 88-74 should win this division by several games.
  14. It's really hard to judge something like that. A wise man once said "Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it." If there are two guys out there willing to pay $10 million for it, that's what it'll go for.
  15. Last night for the D-backs, Micah Owings threw 3-hit baseball over 7 innings, and also had 4 hits, 4 runs, 2 hr and 6 RBI at the plate. Dude should change his name to Micah OWNings.
  16. Brewers up 6-3 in the 8th.
  17. I would assume Piggy. I think it's whoever threw the strike 3 pitch gets credit for the K.
  18. Right now I'd like to see this team rip off about 9 of 11 or so and put a good cushion between them and the Brewers.
  19. Yeah, we did kinda back into it, but I'll take it any way I can get it.
  20. Suck it, Brewers!
  21. I take back the mean things I said about Jim Hendry. This week.
  22. The .gif in your sig is almost exactly what I do when I'm listening to the game and posting here.
  23. Fontenot flew out to the fuggin VINES. Dammit.
  24. Kendall walks. Up to Fontenot. Pie pinch-running.
  25. Our last hope is Jason Kendall. We're screwed.
