Could he have been adopted by an uncle or something? I don't know much about Ruth's history. I've read in several books that Ruth's mother or a grandparent may have been black, as he had many "black" features, but baseball covered it up because he was such an overwhelming draw. -
We just have to accept that the Cards aren't going to fall off. If they haven't by now, I don't think they will.

5 runs through 5 innings isn't "getting into some trouble?" I understand your point and I see what you're trying to say, but he's just going to get worse. He's not fooling anyone, and I'd like to not have to use Marmol or Wood today if at all possible. We've got Lieber. Looks like he'll be in for at least 1 more inning, though.

Lately the Cubs have the annoying habit of giving back runs after a big inning. The BEST thing that can happen to the Cubs now is a 1-2-3 inning from Marquis here.
