  1. Hey, I know! Lee can move to CF for the next batter just for shiggles!
  2. It's like I posted earlier in the thread: baseball possesses the most stubborn human beings in all of professional sports. Lou sac bunted because that's just "what you do" in that situation, logic be damned. And it'll be that way for all eternity, because people just refuse to change.
  3. Dammit. Just as things were starting to turn around on the season, too, Rammy has to go and get hurt again. I hate my life.
  4. Winning is the ultimate painkiller. I'd rather win ugly than lose pretty, but damn...... there is a limit on just how ugly you can be before you have to go out in public with a bag over your head.
  5. Ok, so who's going to blow it in the bottom of the inning?
  6. If you expected THIS then you're a lunatic. Lock me in the padded room, then. I just had a hunch that after Theriot's double we weren't out of the woods. You probably had a hunch that the Cubs were going to blow the 12-0 lead against the Astros last week. No, actually I felt good about that game. In that game, Cubs pitchers actually knew what a "strike" was.
  7. Everyone hates it when I say it, but....they're the Cubs. Losing is what they do.

  9. Did anyone else not expect this? I surely can't be the only one.
  10. Watching the Cubs will take 10 years off your life.
  11. Have we gotten ahead of more than 3 or 4 batters tonight?
  12. Cubs pitchers are throwing plenty of those tonight.
  13. But yet he'll still continue to switch hit, because that's how it's always been, and because this is baseball, that's how it always will be. There are too many incredibly stubborn people in all levels of baseball (not just the Cubs) to expect a struggling switch-hitter to just pick one side or the other after prolonged struggles.
  14. This post strikes me as odd for someone with four posts who joined today. How is it odd? If he lurked long enough he could know how and when to use "Cobs", and tonight is appropriate.
  15. Why the hell do you send Nick Johnson there, especially with the way Cubs pitchers are struggling tonight?
  16. Is that Notre Dame scholarship still on the table?
