  1. I should never have turned it on. As soon as I turned it on the carnage started.
  2. Stick a fork in them. The Angels are done. No, wait. The Cubs dressed as the Angels for Halloween.
  3. If that were the Cubs in that situation, they may have scored a run on a sac fly, but that would have been the only one.
  4. [expletive] Yankees. [expletive].
  5. I thought that was gone off the bat.
  6. Fukudome 2/13 with 5 BB Bradley 3/15 with 2 BB and a HBP so that is a combined OBP of .361 over the 4 games that they were in the top 2 spots in the lineup. Small sample size, but I think that could be sustained for an entire season.
  7. I think somebody on here posted that Duncan makes $800,000 with the Cardinals and that's the most amongst coaches (non-managers) in MLB. Also, I think Jaramillo used to be second on that list and now has taken over first, at least for now. Per John Hayman on MLBN, Jaramillo's take is some $400,000 more than the next-best-paid hitting coach (Mattingly.) if he can help the offense to perform like we all know it can, he's worth every penny.
  8. I love that Z leads almost every hitting category for pitchers.
  9. I'm not saying I think he'll be here. I'm saying that if the Cubs choose to mend fences, I don't think that Bradley's standing with the fans or the organization is beyond repair, especially if he produces. Production heals a lot of wounds. I wouldn't trade him just to trade him, though. I'm encouraged that lots of teams are interested, because maybe then we might be able to get a somewhat decent return for him. However, I'm just saying I won't be heartbroken if he's here Opening Day and is serious about having a good season. Does anyone have the combined OBP of Kouske and Bradley for the games in which they batted 1-2?
  10. i understand what you mean...to a degree...but it is kind of like pissing into the wind at this point bradley's ship has sailed far far away from this team I don't think that his reputation is beyond repair at this point. Assuming he and Rudy J have a good relationship from his season in Texas (and I have no idea whether they do or not), he can put in work this offseason, and if he has a hot April and keeps his mouth shut, I'm sure he can get the fans back on his side. It's entirely up to him, though. The fans aren't going to come around with an improvement in his production and his attitude. I'd be for keeping Bradley and having him and Kouske 1-2 in the order on Opening Day. They could be deadly tablesetters for Lee and Aram.
  11. I think the Phils have the offense to give the Yankees (or Angels--not likely) fits. The Yanks may have the edge in starting pitching, but there isn't a pitcher in baseball who wants to face that offense. Edit: You could make the argument that the Orioles are an old-line club, too. They're an original American League franchise. They were in Milwaukee as the Brewers in 1901, then St. Louis from 1902-1952 and then moved to Baltimore in 1953. Yes, they've relocated, but I consider them an original AL franchise, just like the Twins.
  12. If it isn't my old friend, Mr. McGreg, with a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg! http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m100/fishmaster17/mr-mcgreg_002_1196470926.jpg
  13. This is, without any doubt, THE worst umpired postseason game I have ever personally witnessed. Bud Selig has got to do something because those umpires are laughingstocks right now.
  14. Don't they have access to a ridiculous buffet and top shelf bar in a temperature controlled room? I could see why people would leave their seats often this time of year. Psh. Man up and be cold. You won't die. (I'd probably eat the buffet food too for the money I'd be shelling out for those seats)
  15. Horrible AB by Hunter there.
  16. Geez, Torii. What the hell were you chasing?
  17. McCarver is such a Yankees homer it's pathetic. I think it was Johnny Damon who hit a Grand Slam in Game 6 or Game 7 of the 2004 ALCS.. the one where the Yankees were up 3-0 and imploded. It very audibly clanged off the foul poul. McCarver was silent until about the 2nd replay where he said "That's the worst sound I've ever heard."
  18. I don't believe so. The White Sox went 11-1 in 2005, though.
  19. *sigh* It's so easy to get my hopes up again. Damn you, Eddie Vedder! Is it April yet? Great vid, Aramisfan. You always do great work.
  20. i'm assuming that when you say "inferior", you mean "better at baseball" You'd take guys like Wood, Greene, and Crosby over Theriot? Khalil Greene sucks out loud. I don't understand the obsession with him.
  21. I'd like Harden, Bedard, Lee, Sheets, Soriano, Crawford, and Lackey on that list. The rest I could very happily do without.
  22. Neither have I. If you don't touch the bag, the runner shouldn't be out. However, if they call it all the other times, they should have called it this time. All I want is consistency. But they got out of it unscathed, so that's a relief.
  23. Once again umps decide a crucial moment in the game, though this time it's not so clear cut. It seems that just about every game in the postseason so far has had some horribly attrocious call at a crucial time.
