  1. once the league is filled I'll see what I can do about the draft time. Although I ask everyone's understanding.... it is damn near impossible to find a draft time that works for 14 random people. Some people are going to be unhappy no matter what the time is.
  2. No, it can be changed.
  3. 4 spots left! Any active manager is welcome.
  4. Come one, come all! ID 144599 password: cubswin
  5. This one will just be live. I didn't know Yahoo held auction drafts. I can make another league with an auction draft, though. I think it would be fun.
  6. Anything can happen in the playoffs
  7. I can't wait for him to racky-tack someone!!
  8. There are still plenty of spots left open if anyone is still interested. And I may adjust the pitching category to more than 7 IP, but 25-30 seems a bit high to me. I'll figure something out.
  9. Ok, it's set up. It'll be 14 teams, 2 divisions, 6 playoff spots. 6x6 h2h yahoo league with a live draft set for 5 pm CST on March 1st. The draft time can change, though, if it's not suitable for everyone. Please understand, however, that it is completely impossible to choose a draft time that can accomodate all 14 people, so some folks are going to have to pre-rank. The categories are: AVG, HR, RBI, SB, R, OBP, W, SV, K, WHIP, k/BB ratio, and ERA. ACal, tfarks, Prizefight, and dew, your invites are in your IM box. If anyone else is interested, either IM me or post in this thread.
  10. If our offense stays healthy and Soriano and Soto rebound, we can contend if the rotation doesn't implode. The rotation, however, scares me without Harden in it, and who knows how long it'll be after Lilly comes back before he's effective again.
  11. My state is gettng like $85 million for light rail between Madison and Milwaukee, and there will be a Milwaukee-to-Chicago route. I'm really pumped for it, because then I can just drive across town and take the train to Chicago a few times a year to go to Wrigley. I might have my wife talked into a 9-game ticket package.
  12. That was my first thought. Now if they can just fix that stupid super-short left field in that idiotic ballpark. I'd fix the stupid hill first. I hate that damn thing.
  13. totally free. All you need is a yahoo account.
  14. Yahoo fantasy baseball should be opening in the next week or so. With the official start of Spring Training a mere 10 days away, I'm ready to start thinking about Opening Day. I'm just trying to gauge interest in a Yahoo h2h 5x5 or 6x6 league (if it would be 6x6 the hitting category would be OBP and the pitching would be K/BB ratio). Number of teams will be determined by the amount of interest i get. Either post in this thread or IM me if you're interested in joining. It would be a live draft probably sometime on a Monday or Thursday night on a yet-to-be-determined date, but it could be another night of the week depending on my work schedule. Let me know! I hope to see a lot of you there, as there are some really, really good players here. I didn't do so well in my leagues last year after winning 2 of them in '08. I look to change that.
  15. What's your company? I'm not in the Chicagoland area so I'm likely not a customer. I'm just curious is all.
  16. Another part of my childhood dies. I know MLB has rules and such governing broadcasts on superstations, but listening to Harry and Steve and watching 154 games a year on WGN was one of the best memories of my childhood. The crappy thing is I live JUST out of the range of CSN. If I were 15 miles further south I could get it in my cable package.
  17. I wish I'd get paid that much to completely suck at my job.
  18. Why? Saying you hate Twitter makes you sound like Bill Plaschke or something. Only twits use Twitter.
  19. Stronger than what? Millar shouldn't see Wrigley. Stronger in his mind, anyway.
  20. That I'd actually pay to see. Paying Kevin Millar to play baseball, though, not so much. Could this be Hendry's new MO? First guys who can catch the ball, then speedy leadoff hitters, then more left-handed, and now a stronger bench?
  21. Yuck. It had better not be much. Millar doesn't have it anymore.
  22. For me, part of my hatred was that he replaced one of my all-time favorite Cubs and proceeded to stink up the joint.
  23. Alfonseca, Rojas, Aguilera, Gregg.... That's like the Holy Quadrant of suck right there.
  24. I always liked Scott Downs. I was a little disappointed when we traded him for RonDL White.
  25. I've made my peace with Jimmy. He was a huge part of that 2008 team.
